Default One of my Christmas gifts. Colt 22LR DiamondBack

22LR DiamondBack Looks to be unfired. I do need the correct box if anyone knows where I can buy one.

The .22 Diamondback is one of the Colt "modern" DA collectors gotta have. Looking at yours one can see why. In a fit of madness I sold my 6" DB .22 years ago. I think there are far fewer 4"ers. Very nice gun.

Not really. The blue 4" .22LR is the second most common DB, right next to the blue 4" .38SPL. HTH

Great Christmas present. I sometimes look ar non-Smiths and consider thinning out,but Diamondbacks,Pythons and Series 70's aren't in that consideration. I really do not see many Diamonbacks in the southern end. I know you will enjoy it.

Mighty nice, I have a couple of .38's, but no .22.I swapped my 2 1/2" .22 for something else years ago. What was I thinking.

"Looks to be unfired."

Not for long, I hope. .22 revolvers are meant for shooting, not sitting in safes.

One of my favorite revolvers is a doggy looking K-22, shipped right after WWII. The bore and chambers are perfect and it is a FINE shooter.

Beautiful find! Never let it go. I hardly see them anymore. About a dozen years back, I saw a couple of .38 Diamondbacks in a used gun shop. I regret not getting one of them.

When I was a kid, maybe 10 or 11, I wanted a 6" .22 Diamondback so bad I could taste it, I was like Ralphie in "A Christmas Story" wanting his Red Ryder. I did everything I would to drop hints to my parents for at least 2-3 years that a 6" Diamondback .22 was a perfect gift for me for any occasion. It was a lost cause, Mom wouldn't let me have a handgun. I ended up getting a 6" S&W 17-3 from my uncle with I was 11 or 12, but that's another story all together. I bought a 4" Diamondback when I was in my early 20's, but always wanted a 6".

Several years ago I was telling my Diamondback story to a friend of mine; my wife was present at the time. She later asked him if he knew what I was talking about, he did, and she told him t find me a nice one as she wanted to give me one for Christmas. I got a nice 98% 6" Diamondback .22 that year.

I still tease my mom that she never would get me one, it took my wife to get me something I wanted so many years ago!

Great Colt, enjoy it!

I have a 22 Dback in 4" appx the same unfired condition. I know there are pristine boxes available on Gunbroker, but I cant bring myself to spend $150 for one. Just search Colt Box on GB. Seller has several available, with no writing on the end labels.
You may want to look there.

I really don't know what the factory box looks like. My gun was mfg around 1982-83. If anyone has a picture of the original box, please send pics to me @ [email protected]
