new 45 ACP S&W M&P or Beretta Px4?
Looked at both today liked the feel of them both now I have to decide which one to get?
Either will be for fun and defense just need to decide which one to order.

If nothing else, it seems like holsters, magazines, and accessories for the M&P would be easier to find. You can also get Crimson Trace grips for the M&P, but not the Px4.

both are nice
I went with the M&P due to it's simplicity of operation. There is just a trigger.
Shooting in IDPA has caused me to realize that time is everything in responding to a threat. The more simple the gun, the better for me. Thinking about a thumb safety or de-cocker slows me down. However, there are a whole bunch of folks who easily score better than me, and they have a thumb safety or de-cocker.
I guess it comes down to how you get along with machinery.

My PX4 in 9mm is my SHTF go-to gun. I shoot it very naturally and it's one of the most accurate centerfires that I shoot regularly. The M&P has never felt as good to me personally.
IMO, it's one of the most under-rated semi's available today... and a good buy.

Your talking two different guns. The PX4 is DA/SA, has an external safety and decocker with rotating barrel. The M&P does not. If they both feel good in the hand then you will have to decide which system you like better.
I have shot both. Both were equally accurate and functioned reliably. Recoil was not a problem.
Personnaly I don't like DA/SA guns. If I did I would carry the PX4. I prefer the M&P.

Just in case you didn't know...you can install the "stealth" safety levers on the PX4 and do away with the safety feature while also getting lower profile levers. What you'll end up with is a da/sa pistol with a decocker but no safety ( think SIG only slide mounted. ). Very easy to do yourself

I still like John Browning;'s gun. Shooting fast from a holster, I can't see any difference in shooting a 1911 and my Glock 19. Taking off the safety is automatic and doesn't slow down the first shot at all. Of course, it helps to practice with the 1911.

I like the M&P's simplicity in firing and takedown.
