Default BRNO shotguns

Picked one up today. Mighty impressive smoothbore.

Anyone know anything about these shotguns?

I had an older over and under a few years, excellent gun. Most of the older shot guns I have seen are of excellent quality.

Having owned CZ USA shotguns, at first I didn't realize they were Turkish Huglu imports. Not true Czeck Republic guns.

Assume the BRNO's are the real deal, no?

My BRNO is a 12ga SXS made in 1968. Think LC Smith with coil springs.

This one is almost identical to mine: BRNO Sidelock SXS 12 Gauge, Mitchell Gun Library, Gun Library : Cabela's

Except mine still has the original steel buttplate. What you can't see from the picture is the raised cheek piece on the left side of the stock. Which is the problem, I shoot left handed and this shotgun is set up for a right handed shooter. I've also been told the bores are chrome plated, and I think they are.

When properly cleaned and lubed it requires NO force to open the action. I can hold the buttstock under my arm and against my body, thumb the lever, and the weight of the barrels is sufficient to open the action.
