Rossi Mod.92 replica
I saw one at the last gun show I went to. And now I want one. Chambered .38/357 . Cutest little carbine I've ever seen, looks almost like a toy. Anybody have any experiance with them?

They are nice little carbines, some are a little rough out of the box but there is a guy in Texas making a living slicking them up, and he works cheap.
Rossi 92 Specialist, Nate Kiowa Jones a.k.a. Steve Young - Professional Gunsmith
I have 3 of them, 2 357s and a 44. The 44 has received Steve Young's magic touch, the other two are waiting their turn to go see him.
They shoot great too.

There's only a couple rifles I would get now. One is a Rossi 92 carbine with the 16" barrel, saddle ring and loop lever. This one doesn't seem to come in 44 Mag so I'd go with 357. .45 Colt as last resort. I want to spin it around like John Wayne. Pictured her is my early 1980's Browning .44 Magnum. It's just as good as it gets. When you get down to it I bet the Rossi could keep up with it for intended purposes. They are fine little carbines.

+1 on the Rossi Model 92 SRC .38spc/.357 mag lever action carbine.
Lightweight, well-balanced, accurate and fun to shoot.
I believe I bought mine in the mid 80's.

DLC’s Rossi Mdl 92 SRC .38spc /.357mag Lever Action.

Here is a Puma 92, Bounty Hunter .44 mag., with a 12" barrel, made in Italy.
Quality, fit & finish is excellent!

I have a Rossi 92 - one of the ones imported by Navy Arms with the pretty wood. This is a Short Rifle, a 20" .357. Man, my Tennessee Valley Bullet handloads hit out of this thing like a .30-30 (158-gr at over 2k fps) . . . and there are ten of them in the tube.
A friend gave me the Marbles tang sight. This thing is a great home-defense gun - works like a charm, hits hard, groups into 1.5" @ 50 yards, and just reeks of "good guy".

I have a Rossi 92 in .357. I would grab it and my M-66 before anything else.

Rossi lists the 16" large loop as being available in .44 mag.
Im thinking about getting a 20" with forward mounted scope in .44

I have the old browning 92 version in .44 mag. Many years ago I had a old shotout winchester 92 rifle in 25-20 converted to .357. Wish I would have kept that one. Almost unbeliveably now, I once also had a old winchester 73 that was a shot out 32 wcf converted to .38 special!

I have one in .357 - an accurate shooter, and very reliable. After this photo was taken, I canned the sling swivel bases. Only thing I don't like is the goofy little rotating "safety" they put on top of the breech block. There was no need to "improve" on John Browning's original design. But otherwise, I like it a lot. A very handy rifle.
BTW, John Wayne's '92 had an under-legal barrel length for easier twirling. I wouldn't try it with one of the Pumas. Here's a pic of me with a couple of Duke's guns at the NRA show in Phoenix last May.

I shoot SASS with a brass framed one in .38/.357. It was a bear to load for, mine is picky about OAL. Once I found what would feed well I just stuck with that load and length and haven't had many feed problems since.

I have a stainless one in .357, and it is a sweet, handy little thing!
I really like it!
I really like the fact that I got it for around the $400 mark brand new.

Hey, Paladin, behind you to YOUR right. That looks like Leonardo DiCaprio's guns and rig from Quick and the Dead. Were they remember if they were real Colts?

I dunno, Wyatt. I was only interested in John Wayne's guns. The single action is a Great Western, and the '92 is a Winchester.

Paladin, if you haven't already seen it, there's a thread on leverguns.com about getting rid of that safety, if that interests you.
