Glock 29 or 29 SF
Ask my local pusher to pick up a Glock 29 for me to complement my 20. He called today and ask if I wanted the standard 29 or the 29 sf(short frame) any one seen the new short frame. I have long fingers so the short may not be the best choice for me any way.

If you don't have any problem with the G20, I'd stick with the standard frame and get the 29.

That is the current plan and since the 29 is not a big seller I am not going to ask him to buy one of each. (he is getting his stocking dealer program order up). I don't think he has ever sold a 10mm glock to anyone but me in the past 10 years and that was my 20C. Sure would like to at least get one in my hand just to see how it feels.

Glock 29SF
I have one and its the only Glock i own. Fits my hand great, and shoots flawlessly. Mine has nights site. I have owned a regular G29 in the past, the SF just brings it in a little shorter for me and is just right.

Had 29 and have the 29SF and can't tell any difference, the difference is front to back length of the grip by 3mm I was told by someone on Glock forum. What ever the difference you need them side by side to really compare.
The G-29 accuracy has driven a few 1911 fans nuts at the gun club with its ability hit pins faster and more often at 25 yards then the 100 year old warrior they paid 2 to 3 times more then what I paid.

I found the G20 too big for me and the G20SF fit noticeably better. Apparently the 3mm made the difference to me. If the G20/G29 fits you that's fine. Another consideration is the G29SF [with a smaller grip] might sell better if you ever have to give it up.

You would not think that 3mm radius would change the circumference that much, but as ergonomics goes it works.
I also think the SF model would have better resale because of grip size is such a turn off to so many people. Myself I like the bigger grips but I have huge hands to go with my 6'5" 300 lb body.

If you have long fingers, and you can handle your G-20 well, I would get the standard.
IF you cannot handle/operate the G20 EASILY with one hand, I would get the G-29SF.
I have shorter fingers, and find the SF version better.

I'm 5/11 and have average hands. I had a G29 SF and found it required constant grip adjustment. Bought a new G29 regular and find it just falls into place in my hands perfectly. I'm actually trying to sell a Smith model 13 3 inch in the classifieds to buy a second G29. IMHO it is the best all around handgun in the world for general purpose.

I believe SF in glock is "slim frame" and not "short frame" as ya stated...
I would get the SF as it does not effect the mag use at all and it will give a slightly better grip unless ya have gorrilla hands... I do and still like the SF...
Also the 29 is a carry concealed gun and as such the smaller the better to a degree...

The g29 is one model of 10mm I don't have, yet. I also have large hands, or larger than average anyway and I liked the SF version better when I checked out the new entry. Then again I like service grips on my S&W 29 44 mag best if I only could keep them from getting loose from the hammering recoil. Point is, go with what you like and don't base it on the size of you paws.

Thanks for the replies.
Got rid of a 27 and replacing it with the 29. I had the 27 for more than 10 yrs and just never really liked it. Shot good just didn't feel right.

It is confusing, but you are right. Short frame implies height, but Glock already handled that by naming the models with abbreviated grip height (combined with shorter barrel-frame top-ends) with a different model number. I believe Glock felt that by calling it "Slim Frame" there would be an implication that the grip is narrower in width (LEFT to RIGHT) and this would be reinforced by all the advertising that Walther and Kahr are doing these days about their pocket 9s and 380s. So, what term to describe shorter front-to-back dimension on the grip frame? Short Frame... Not perfect, but there it is...
