Default Ruger MkIV Anniversary 22auto

I am curious as to what a Ruger 22auto 60th Ann.pistol is worth.
It's new, unfired in the box with everything. The pistol is a 5inch bull barrell, blue with adj. sights and the 60th Annv.logo in gold on the back of the bolt and the laser etched Annv. wood grips.
I bought the thing and am wondering if I paid too much, I was planning on putting it up in the safe to see if maybe it would be worth anything to a Ruger collector one day.
Thanks in advance
Danny A.

SORRY IT IS A MK III-NOT A MK IV

My experience is the Rugers don't appreciate like Smiths and Colts.

I even saw a Ruger X-GI sell for way under what I thought it should have sold for.

Danny, I agree with m1gunner, and this new model is what I call a "tweener"...its between "commemerative" models, they are going to the well far too often, last MK I 50th ann.(1999) models ain't worth "doo doo" can be found for welll under $300............all too often they make way too many of the model and flood the market, make too many, then close them out for "peanuts" ( how about the 1999 50th closed out at UNDER $189 to dealers.......)Just MY .02 cents and I am the "rugerguy"

I love the Ruger Mk. series, but like the other guys said, they're bought to be shot. Their are some valuable older models out there, though.

Do any of you Ruger knowledgeable ones have an idea what a 3" (I think) Service Six in 9 mm is worth? Friend of mine just acquired one in a raffle and has no idea of value. It has been shot but appears 98% in the box etc. It is 6 shot and considerably heavier that my 940, which is good as my 940 has substantial recoil.

I have no idea as to value, but they're pretty rare.

I paid $438.00 plus tax for the thing and listened to the salesman tell me it was the only one they had. Went back the next week and another one was in it's place in the case.
Live and learn. I think I am going to shoot the snot out of it or if I don't I'll probably take a hosing if I tried to trade it.
Thanks fella's

They're fun little guns. I've got the MKIII 4" 22/45, and after removing the mag safety and LCI, really enjoy it.

HRichard, if that is the 'original' Speed/Service Six in a 9mm those are quite rare and worth welll into the $500-600 plus range, more at auction...NICE gun
I'm guessing its the stainless version and most likely a 2 3/4" barrel......

Danny, yes they got you ,but we do not like to "second" guess peoples buy, you liked it for some reason, so makes no matter the cost, call it a "learning experience"............never know, you may find someone who likes it even MORE than you........gotta try and be an educated buyer......
