I don't know if this is still available. Winchester White Box "Value Pack" (USA2232), 45 grain 40 rounds to a box, 3700fps listed. I bought a couple thousand rounds back in the day ($8.99/40 on sale) and my Bushmaster AR-15 A4 got 1/4" groups with most lots, the worst being 3/4". 3 different bolt guns; Interarms Mini-Mauser, Cooper 21, and a Savage 110 left hand bull barrel, all got that performance or better. Best, 1 hole to worst 1/2". All these were scoped in the 10 to 20 power range and were shot from a bench at 100 yards. I'm down to my last 400 rounds, and hate to see it go this coming summer, but I bought it to shoot.
To answer your question, I don't care how fast you miss! I always go for the most accurate ammo. On a different Savage 223, I shoot steel targets out to 1000 yards. The 20 point target is 5" diameter. 1 MOA is a little over 10", so ammo/guns that shoot 1 MOA won't be getting many hits. This ammo/gun combo can shoot 3" at that distance, sometimes I can too. Ivan
