I only saw one once I think at a gunsmith freinds shop. Very cool concept. That's what Pat Garrett had in his buckboard when he was shot in the back of the head while taking a leak.

We had one,, was "removed" from the house after a housefire and placed in "protective custody" by the local sheriff's dept along with a bunch of other guns...( I watched them being loaded into the cruiser).never to be seen again....
anyhow....

strange shotguns, the pump action was located in the pistol grip.

the story on ours was that one of the great uncle's had polio which weakened his left side and that he had purchased a burgess because of where the action was located, and wanted one of the "new fangled" repeaters, this was way back in the late 1800's

still watch around the local gunshows, see if i can "find" another like it. 12 gauge 30"barrel, engraved.....sigh......

The local museum has one. I used to help with the gun collection until we got a new curator who knew it all. I was aware of what they were years ago but never ran into one except for that one briefly. They were mildly popular with law enforcement in the day because they were so concealable. Not a half bad idea, either.
