Default S&W 1911 question

Over to IMDB firearms, they insist that Tom Selleck carries a Smith 1911, both as Jessie Stone and as Cooper (on Las Vegas).

The problem, to me, is that whenever I've seen the gun, in one of the shows, it's either holstered or he's holding it pointed at some bad guy. In either case, much of it is hidden, either by the holster or his hands. There's never a nice "beauty shot" of it just lying on the table.

So, is there some way to tell that it's a Smith? I see it has an external extractor, but so do many 1911s nowadays.

Help?

Linking me to the page that I said I looked at? The one picture they show of the gun by itself is blurry and dark. All I can tell is it is "commander sized". I can't even see the external extractor, in that picture.

On that link they state it's a 1911SC.

On the sub link before the pics it links to all the movies and the gun, 1911sc

Tom Selleck knows his guns and insists on authentic firearms in his movies. So I tend to believe the gun is what they say it is.
