at a gunshow a couple weeks ago I bought a box of Junk from a gentleman. This was in the box. Pre 70 slide Barrel springs and parts for a 38 Super. I know its been reblued and someone on another forum told me that he thought the Ejector port had been modified. can Anyone here confim the port modification? and is there any way to date the parts? What kind of Value would you place on it if it were yours?

Yup, the port has been lowered.
I don't know about the age of the parts, if you don't get an answer here you might try the Colt forums.
I also noticed you don't have the .38 Super slide stop, you may or may not need it if you put it on another caliber lower.

Looks to me as if the bottom of the exjection port is uneven and more concave than it should be. Maybe my old eyes, or the angle of the photo.

Just from the photo, the parts look pretty well used. The last 38 Super slide I bought was a Series '70 in '98 and I paid $110. It was in excellent condition except for the finish, which showed a lot of holster wear. At gun shows, I've seen only two 38 Super slides for sale, that I can remember, in the last five years or so. For a while there, they sold as fast as someone put them on the table.

Hopefully, someone can give you a little more up to date information.

If that guide rod works on a Government length .45ACP, I'd like to have it. My new loaded Springfield has a two piece setup that I absolutely cannot stand, and I'd prefer to switch it to a standard GI setup.

Not a problem with the lowered port. Some would prolly lower it and radius the back. It would appear the slide rails are ok from the pic. I'd say it's worth over $150 all day long up here. Would make a nice set of parts to fit to a Essex frame.

Looks like everthing is okay. The port may have been modified somewhat, someone may have had trouble ejecting a live round and elongated it.
Get a frame and make yourself a good knock around gun or sell it as parts. It should be worth $110-150. You will need a slide stop though, make sure you get one for a 38Super, there are differences in them. Also you look to need a recoil spring plug.
