I own a couple of Judges, and want one of the revolving full length shotguns when they hit the market. I've been told the regular shotgun one will have Briley choke tubes in it.

But you have to hand it to them... if they think people will buy it, they will make it.
The SAD thing... their .410 pistols outsell the hell out of the .44 Special pistols they made

The plastic doesn't swell up anyway, so once the head of the shell is extracted, they pretty much fall out.

The Circuit Judge is the regular sized shotgun.

i have the raging bull 454 and like the look of it. reminds me of the movie hell boy.although i have never shot it, it still interests me. as far as this gun i would have one, i would think more practical than a shot barreled version. if smith would make a 454 in an n frame now that would be cool just to get the quality would be great. the raging bull that i have doesn't lock up as good one of the cylinders will turn out of battery when the gun is not cocked. i got a great deal on it from someone that needed the money more than the gun. Doeboy

wouldnt call it entirely useless.
the basic concept makes for a nice snake charmer.
unfortunately the loopholes that make this legal limit it to lousy platforms.

I wouldn't have any concern w/Circuit Judge manufactured by Rossi, yes of Taurus, if its build is anything like their levers.

The .410 @ 67.5 guage isn't my cup of tea & I wish they produced an honest to gawd 36 gauge.

That would place the bore right @ .500 and that would make for an interesting shell/shotshell combo w/smoothbore & rifled brl.

The local gunshop sells a Taurus Judge just about every day. I was in there last week and a senior citizen came in and bought one without haggling, looking, etc. He said he had got his American Rifleman the day before, read the article and wanted one.

The owner of the shop says that he can't get the stainless models as they are backordered.

Well, at least we have something different from them...

At least it's not like we're dreading the 100th anniversary of a certain model of pistol waiting for **** to appear from the vestiges of a formerly great firearms kingdom. *blech*

Taurus has some great minds behind their marketing, IMHO- whereas company "C"....well...

this is quite the utility revolver that fills many applications. i say Bravo to Taurus because i know damn well if it was made by s&w even with the built in lock folks here would step on their own schwantz to get one.

I've always liked the unusual. When we were allowed pistols here in the UK, I bought a FA 454 Premier Grade in 1992. Offhand, I can recall at least 2 instances of people saying "what's the point?" or stuff to that effect, even though it did have its uses for long range pistol disciplines (we don't have bears in the UK!). These people, together with the .22 target pistol shooters who sneered at other types of handgun, now, can't shoot any modern (post WW2?)cartridge firing handgun other than tandem air cartridge pistols which aren't really worth the hassle of a UK firearm certificate...

I've been waiting for Uberti to make a .44mag/20ga. centerfire version of the LeMat.

actually I would like one to try my hand at squirrel hunting with pistol, the .410 would be interesting enough, now add the pistol concept to it.

Well, say what you want, from a business stand point, Taurus has a hit on their hands. The Judge line sells like hot cakes. Don't be surprised when S&W wheels out their own version. Money loves company.

Magnum Research has a 45/410 revolver; I think it is single action only. The quality is so much better than Taurus, and it has a price to show for it.

Class III, I've seen the black powder versions, I want something that will take metallic cartridges and modern shotshells. Although making a revolver with a shotgun barrel in the middle of the cylinder that fired them would require the gun to be a bigger monster than the LeMat was.

Can you quantify for us, why exactly they are junk? I mean, I don't know anything about anything and I don't own a Taurus but I sure would like to know for future avoidance what makes them so junk that they elicit an all caps response.

I had a chance to fire a Judge once with .410 shells. Kind of neat in a way, but not my cup of tea. A model 10 with shot shells works just as well at snake range. Anyway, I've had two Taurus hand guns and wish I still had one of them. The PT-92 that I had some 15 years ago was pretty darn good for the money.

Taurus makes ugly revolvers? Seen a recent S&W catalog? Model 500, 460, the 8 shot spacegun with rails all over it?

Current production S&W fans might want to think twice before casting those stones. Glass houses and all that. Regards 18DAI.

Why just go straight to the 460 mag.

Well, it is a Taurus thread and seven yrs old, so what the 'eh?

I bought a south of the border 5rnd 44 spl Ultra light w/2" barrel. Didn't care for the ribber grip and fabbed a Rossi 357 grip which is much smaller.

By the third round, one hand grip/CCI 200gn speer ashtrays, the senorita has turned CW, lookin' from the left, 'till the web of me 'and is buttrd up agin the hump.

Same hump above the stocks as an HE . That's OK as by then I've only two rnds left if needed.

It's worth the 19.5oz weight unloaded.

I've owned two very good Taurus guns, a 431 3 inch .44 Special and a stainless PT1911 9MM, both of which I sold to forum members. The rest of the Tauri that have entered and left my possession have been disasters. Now, if I could get a longer barrelled Judge cheap, I'd buy it for hand tossed clay shooting, otherwise I'm done with Taurus.

i once saw a video of a pretty comprehensive testing of the judge with various .410 loads and it was surprisingly ineffective with all of them.. including slugs.

as far as taurus goes, i only buy guns that provide pride of ownership... and that aint one of em.

I was with a friend at a gun show shortly after the Judge came out and he bought one. I had no interest myself, but we did go out and shoot some hand thrown clays - hit rate at about 40% so we were pleased by that.

Then we loaded up some 45LC - at 15 yards we could barely stay in a 12" diameter target. Neither one of us could be considered top marksmen, but this was clearly the gun rather than the shooters. The only time that I can remember being more accurate than the gun I was shooting.
