Default UNAMERICAN HANDGUNS: TECNEMA TCM-2-MASTER; AN ITALIANMADE 1911

After another great day at the range with this big piece of stainless-steel, it's time to introduce you this .45 ACP-tackdriver. I've bought this pistol back in 1996,
because of the tight tolerances. Everything was okay, until the evening when my "reloadingroutine" destroys the part of the barrel around the chain-piece.
Because of its uncommon trumpet-shape wasn't it possible to use one of the myriads of aftermarket-barrels. Mr Crottet, a Swiss gunsmith-wizzard repaired the barrel.
That happened ca. ten years ago...
Since I own this gun, I can't go wrong with it, if someone want's to shoot a match against me. The only thing in this system, that got bigger tolerances is Swissman.

The gun comes with a fully adjustable TRT rearsight and a, from the inside of the slide, screwed on black frontsight.

The triggers breaks with ca. 2 kilogramms and there is no creep. The "free" way of the trigger to the "set-point" is 0.12 inches.

Please note the "special tool" for taking the (main)recoilspring/(main)recoilspringrod/(main)recoilspringhull-unit out of the slide.

Then you pull the barrel through the frontside oft the slide..

The gun is taken apart...... and you can have another look at the uncommon shape of the barrel and as you see, it holds a 13 rounds container.

The wrong side......with an interesting view on NO BARRELBUSHING. The slide is drilled conically and sets the barrel in battery.

..and some braggin' is allowed with this trusty 1911... the very low "9" is the Swissman-tolerance.
The picture was taken today with a cellphone.
.

Thanks for looking. All questions and comments are very welcome.

A nice save-job by the gunsmith. However, given what we know about Swissman's .22 Jet (which cries out for repair ), this does make one wonder about handloading practices over there in Switzerland! ( )

But the proof is in the pudding and that is good shooting!

If I may be so bold to correct a little faulty terminology, the spring you refer to is correctly called the "recoil spring," whereas the "mainspring" is that which powers the hammer and is found in the mainspring housing, directly below the grip safety (assuming that this gun is arranged like an ordinary 1911, in this respect). Interesting gun!

those barrels are called bull barrels here. they are quite common on most of the better built 1911 guns. i just got an STI targetmaster this week that has the same type of barrel but in 6in length with a two piece guide rod. check out stiguns.com for a bunch of different types of 1911 guns. looks like a neat gun, never saw one of those and obviously shoots very well.

"...as you see, it holds a 13 rounds container..."

Don't let the "magazine -vs- clip" crowd see that line. Both camps heads will explode!!!

That's fine shooting for 25 meters offhand!
Congratulations on owning a tack-driving .45 auto.

That 97 score is a lot more the product of the shooter than the gun! Good shooting and an interesting handgun. Thanks for sharing.

Your use of the word "unamerican" in the title has a different connotation in the U.S. (I believe someone has pointed this out to you in the past.) It would be more correct to use the term "non-american".

Hello don95sml,

Thank you for this correction. I know, that unamerican got some other meaning than non-american. When I've started with this presentation of europeean handguns
in this forum, was the politics between the US and Europe pretty rough. (Iraq-war yes or no). On both side of the atlantic were the people some
kind of extreme. The europeeans didn't buy US-cars (I had to listen to some strange comments with my Oldsmobile, back then), the US renamed the french-fries in freedom-fries etc.

So I choosed back then the title "unamercian handguns" for ironic reasons because I saw tendencies that moves us back to the cold war-times.

unamerican is funny to me,
I'll admit that the title caught me until I saw the source.
As long as Swissman don't start calling us namesHe's got some good ones.
