Question Winchester Book

I had always wanted a Win. 9422, and last year I bought a like new 9422 Magnum XTR. I really like the older guns too. My question to you Winchester fans here...what is "the" reference book on Winchesters? I ran across the Standard Catalog of Winchester Firearms by Joseph M. Cornell. Is this what I'm looking for, or is there a better reference book? I'm not so much looking for values as I am for information on the various models and perhaps production number estimates. Thanks for your suggestions!

for the older guns, madis is the one. for engraved guns, wilson has a winchester book that is nice. for model 42 shotguns, don combs has a nice one, for model 12, dave riffle has one. that's all i can think of at the moment, but there are more. winchester books are like colt books, they seem to multiply.

If you like pre 64 model 70's the "Riflemans Rifle" by Rodger Rule is the book to have, expensive and hard to come by unless you get the paperback edition.

"Winchester Complete" by Bill West is my favorite Winchester information provider. Though it is not easy to find a copy and the newer versions have a volume I and II, it contains a detailed description of each variety of each model of every Winchester produced from 1866 to 1967.
