Anybody in the market for an air rifle? Great deal at Midway!
I just got the email sale flyer this morning and ordered one of these. I wasn't in the market and hadn't thought about air rifles in years but it looks like too good a deal to pass up for $100! Supposed to spit out .177 pellets at 1000fps (definitely not my old Daisy 94), should be a lot of fun.
Anyway, thought I'd post the ad in case anybody else wants to take advantage of the sale.

I saw that they ran out Saturday after I got mine ordered. For fun, I said "remind me" when they came in. Got the email saying they were back in stock tonight and the link says will ship tomorrow.
I did what you said to me also. May want to call them tomorrow or try to "ad to cart" then.
Great shooter though...

Mine was delivered today - this is no toy. I was surprised at the heft and the adjustability of the sights. If it shoots as well as it seems it should, it will be well worth the $89 and then some. I checked around and the going discount price seems to be around $200 more or less, so this was a great deal.

I got mine today as well. I'm impressed with it, very well put together, a quality piece, though I think I'm the only one in the house that can cock it! Definitely not a toy, I dry fired it in the kitchen and one of the dogs peed a little and ran under the dining room table. Also, I love the sights, very bright fiber optics!
I neglected to order pellets when I ordered the gun so I need to pick some up tomorrow so I can try it out. I'm interested to read range reports from those here that ordered one, I'll post mine when I get to shoot it.

The manual says never dry fire it although I was tempted. Like the bright optic sights too. I also forgot to order pellets! Great minds.

Manual? What is this manual you speak of? I'm not sure I've ever read one before..... Is it anything like a map? My wife is always talking about maps when we travel, but I'm still a little unclear on that one, too..

I don't read them either - my wife insists on reading manuals, directions (and all kinds of labels in general) to me - I really can't waste my time with them either.
In particular how many "servings" there are in food items. How many times have I heard "that's 10 servings" you just ate or "you're only allowed 3 crackers." To me, a serving is a box or bag of something - why else would they pack them like that?

One characteristic of spring-piston air guns is that they use the resistance of the pellet to insure that the piston doesn't slam into the chamber end. I doubt that one shot would damage the piston, but I have seen some that were beat up pretty bad with only a few shots.

pretty darn powerful!
Ok - I finally got some pellets (K-mart stuff). I decided that if I'm going to send a pellet up the a"xx" of the resident ground-hog, I have to practice a little. I set up a target about 15 yds from our deck - backed it up with a compressed bag of peat moss and then at the last moment I stuck a lid from a roughneck trash lid (pretty thick plastic.) I shot about 10 "rounds" until I zeroed in more or less. This gun penetrated the peat plus the plastic lid (and maybe a few tomatoes.)
Again - this is no toy. I'm impressed with this thing! I had my wife shoot a "round" into the dirt - "sounds like your nail gun" she said. Gives you guys an idea of the sound.
A pellet gun is more than I thought it was or could be - it will get the job done for garden pests (and target shooting.) Every gardener should have one - my neighbor wants to borrow mine already

Still haven't shot mine, can't wait to after that backyard range report! I'm down in Mass for a LE shooting match tomorrow then headed home Wednesday. I'll get some pellets on the way home and hopefully get to try it out in the next few days.
