Default Armscor Colt Clones?

Who's got the scoop on these little things? Just handled one, and while UGLY as sin, the thing locked up tight, action was smooth, and the price was $175 brand new!!

Made in the Philippines. I don't know anything about the quality, but they make a wide assortment of firearms including some attractive looking 1911 types. I wonder if some of the custom makers might not use their frames, slides or other components in building guns.

Armscor makes/made 1911's for several people who put their names on the guns. For the price what I've seen has been pretty good, especially if you know your way around with a Dremel and a little crocus cloth. A bit of detail polishing and hand work yields a pretty reliable 1911 in my experience if you can't meet the tag on a Colt or a Kimber.

Armscor built the Charles Daly 1911's before Daly folded up. I have one and it seems to be a pretty decent gun for the money.

My RIA Compact is as accurate as my Springfield 5" with the same ammo. I did change the sights to Millet, fixed higher profile, and installed a beavertail grip safety, but that's all.
