Any Winchester guys out there that can give me some help ?
I put this on Winchester forum about 2 days ago and no one has answered so thought maybe someone here could help.
A local guy has a Winchester Custer's Last Stand Commemorative that is
number 108 of 300. It is a 30-30 with 16" barrel, NIB. I cannot find any info on this gun anywhere. It is not in the Blue Book and none has been listed on GB in the last 90 days. I went to the local Booksamillion today but they did not have the big Winchester book. I am trying to determine a fair price on the gun to purchase. Would appreciate if anyone has ever had one or has any info on it.
Thanks and have a Blessed Day !

Nope. That's not it.This one reads - Custer's Last Stand - has gold or brass studs in the stock. I will try and get a picture of it and post.
Thanks anyway though !

There's no mention of it in The Standard Catalog of Winchester Firearms.
There's one mention of a Little Big Horn tribute mfg in 1976 at 11000 units. No value stated.

What are the markings on the box?
It looks like generic 30-30 NIB commemoratives start at about $750. Even as a shooter, a 16" 1894 would have substantial value.

Even R.L. Wilson's book does not mention a Last Stand rifle.
Apparently some of the commemoratives were for European markets and Canada.
There are 4 rifles in a series, Apache,Comanche,Sioux and the Little Big Horn. The Little Big Horn was 44-40 caliber.
The only one with gold tacks was the Sioux. Since I can only see one side of the rifle I don't know what else it says.
Perhaps it is one of these rifles.

Custer's last....
This is not a Winchester-manufactured commemorative. It is an aftermarket job made with a standard Winchester Trapper in 30-30. These have little collector value, and are only of interest to those who might have more than passing interest in the Custer story. Buyer beware!

pics
Here are the pics. The gun is a 44 magnum with the large loop and 16" barrel, not a 30/30.Winchester model 94.
Serial # 6182xxx.He has 2 more that I am going to list for him, A Legendary Lawman in 30/30 and a Ducks Unlimited in 30/30.
It may be a customized gun as you say because every other one he has is in the matching commemorative box and this
one is in the regular Winchester box. But, considering a plain 44 magnum trapper NIB runs about $600-$700, I would
pay $600 for it any day of the week for it for a shooter and actually some of the custom guns are of some value. There is a custom Sturgis Winchester on GB right now, current bid is $1126 and on auctionarms, a ruger and winchester sturgis, starting bid at $2295.

That's actually a Chief Crazy Horse commemorative that has been "modified".

No, I found out today that it is a custom build by Tom Trolard, who is famous for his custom Winchester guns and author of " Winchester Commemoratives " . I listed it on gunbroker last night with a starting bid of $750 and I talked to the person that bid on it this morning that actually has one and he gave me some info on it. Thanks again to everyone for the info !
Have a Blessed Day !
