Help me out, Picked up Two Winchester 94's, Made in 1973, How did I do?
Here is a pic of the two guns.
Ones appears 99% or unfired.
The other has a little surface rust around the loading gate but is in otherwise very nice condition.
What is an approximate value?
I paid $400 for the pair.
Serials are 39161xx, and 39204xx
Thanks in advance, I don't know anything about winchesters.

I think you got ripped off!
Should have given $200 for the pair. I'd have bought them in a heartbeat!

Are they "Rangers" ( the lower budget version of the 1894) or regular 1894's? Regardless, $200 apiece sounds like a screaming deal. I paid $250 for my low budget "Ranger" a couple of years ago, and it started in me a love for lever action rifles that hasn't stopped yet....

You won't retire from the sale of them anytime soon, but you made a wise purchase. I would have bought them as well.

They are regular 94's, not Rangers.
Thanks for the imput.
So......$300- apiece if I sell them? Or a little more.
I know it's hard to tell with the pics, but the one seems like a good 99%.

Don't be so fast in selling them. First off they don't have that safety. Second-and more important, they are factory drilled for apeture sights. (Those two little screws on the left side of the receiver towards the top are just filler screws for the holes) Take the one with a little rust on it-send it out for a hard coating of some sort (Birdsong comes to mind) to weather proof it and then install a Williams peep sight on it and you will have one whale of a brush gun. I know this because that's what I did with my circa 1976 94. They are beautiful under appreciated little carbines. My serial # is 4180xxx
