Default Price check: Colt New Frontier .22/.22 mag

I may get the chance to trade for a blued/color case hardened Colt New Frontier .22/.22 mag (1976 vintage?) that is NIB or ANIB. Revolver has the .22 mag cylinder and if memory serves me correctly, it has the 7.5 inch barrel. What is a fair value for this revolver with box, paper work and tools?

I was able to get the Colt. I traded a good shooter grade Ruger Security Six with six inch barrel. The Colt is not NIB, but is in excellent shape with the box and the mag cylinder.

You probably did very well. I wish I still had mine; I bought it on my 21st birthday.

I bought one of these last weekend, 22/22 mag, 98% condition, 7.5" barrel, 1974 vintage, with box and papers and paid $450.

You got a great deal on that Colt. Probably $100 - $150 less than I've seen them in that condition... I've got a 7.5" Buntline in .22 lr (it's not a conversion model). It's 98-99% condition, with box and docs, and has the color case hardened frame. I really like the gun, but only shoot it occasionally.

Congrats to the OP, I think you did very well on the trade!

My favorite single action. I bought mine long enough ago to have forgotten the price. It was used/mint, but I soon changed that. I've had a patridge front sight put on, and had an El Paso Saddlery tanker shoulder holster made for it.

I have one and it's more accurate than a couple of Ruger Single Sixes that I own. Colt bores the .22LR cylinder chambers correctly, that is with properly sized throats. Ruger .22 LR cylinders are bored completely through with the same inside diameter from front to rear. You can actually insert a round of ammo in a Ruger cylinder from the front and it will drop in all the way to the rim. Of course the Colt cost considerably more too.
