Default Old Colt Snubby - Trooper III

At last weekend's gun show, I saw a Colt snubnose that was marked (as I remember) Trooper III. It was priced $325. It looked to have been re-blued with a rough area on one side of the frame. I was impressed with the size and weight of the thing. It seemed huge in comparison to modern production snubbies. I'm not sure I had ever handled an old school snubbie. I noticed it was snatched up quickly by someone else.

I'm just curious: I've seen Colt Trooper's with 4 inch barrels, but were many Trooper snubbies produced?

I've never seen or heard of a Trooper with less than a 4" barrel. Did it have adjustable sights? Colt's big snubs were the Lawman MK III (fixed sights), the Python and the King Cobra.

The sights were fixed. I'm obviously not into Colts much. I bet you are right. I only looked at the markings a moment. The barrel was probably marked Lawman MK III instead of Trooper. My mistake. Thanks.

Like S Hammer said, a Lawman. They came with exposed extractor and later shrouded. These are highly sought after by Colt guys now. That was a steal at that price, blue wear and all.
