Hey you knife lovers
barb had a thread about keepsakes and it made me look through some things my dad left me. In the pictures there is a knife marked MSA CC. I saw some MSA knives on the net but none like this one.
The other one is an Ontario knife of unknown purpose to me.
If any of ya'll know anything about either of these I would like to hear what it is. I do know that the MSA knife holds an edge like no knife I have ever used.
Thanks for any info.
Peace,
gordon

The Ontario is a Jet Pilots knife; Many were military issue.
The MSA : M.S.A stands for the Marble's Safety Axe company which later bacame Marble's knives. I believe that is an Ideal model. Look up Marble's Ideal on the net and you will fine later versions.
The MSA marked knives can have some (not insignificant) collector's value and I suggest you post this on Bladeforums.com in the Bernard Levine forum. Or. better yet contact Mr levine Knife Identification, Authentication, and Appraisal by Bernard Levine he can answer general questions via e-mail and if warranted, will appraise your knife for a small fee.

A possibility it could be Marble Arms & MFR Co., from Gladstone Michigan, C. 1898 - 1979.
Im puzzled...but then again, that has been known to happen on occassion.

I don't know the first thing about them other than I have seen those knives before. I'm not sure when or really too much about them other than I believe them to be real and not some contrived *** collectible. I would be proud to have either one or both in my collection, the fact they came from your father adds even more to the mix.
+1
Edit:
I have an Arkansas stone that looks like it would fit the sheath for your pilots knife. PM me if you need one and I will give it to you. If it does not fit, gift it on down the line.

I have the same Ontario knife, it was part of my USN flight survival gear. It was an issue piece from 1971 ........
