Let's See Your Remington M-870's!
Saw the topic about Remington's new pump shotgun, with a case of the uglies. Is the M-870 an endangered species?
Let's see your 870's! Especially the sporting models, not just the HD items.
No digital camera here, but mine is a Wingmaster, bought new in 2004. It has pretty decent artificial engraving, which I think was a limited production deal. Lasted maybe a year or two, then they went back to plain receivers.
I like what Elmer Keith sad about the then-new M-870 in his classic work, Shotguns. He thought it made all previous slide-action guns virtually obsolete. He was largely right!
If Remington drops the M-870, something is not right in this world.

Does anyone still buy Wingmasters, not just Express and combat versions? Any high-grade guns? Peerless, etc.

Had a Wingmaster since I was 15. Lets see.....that would be about a 38 year partnership that I don't plan on breaking up!
I think it was Jordon who said, "If you don't have a Remington 870, you don't have a shotgun!"
Who am I to argue with the likes of ol' Bill?

Here's a couple of them:
The top gun is a "TB", Wingmaster Trap gun (12 ga) and the middle one is a little unusual; it's a 28 ga Wingmaster. I'm guessing that it may have been a skeet gun, or maybe something for a kid. Bottom gun is a 20 ga.Beretta; which is almost too nice to shoot. -S2

Love the 870. I tricked this one out a few years back. With I still had the replica '97 Trench gun and 11-87.

An old 16 ga that came to me with the barrel chopped off. Added a Poly choke and hunted with it for years until age and health problems slowed me down. A house gun now. (:

I'm of the opinion that you can never have too many 870s. One of their fetching characteristics is that you can configure them for any purpose - hunting, clays, or self-defense. Here are some of mine that illustrate that pretty well.
Top: My TB trap model - I've put more rounds through that one than any other shotgun I own. 50 straight is a breeze with it.
Middle: My ubertactical model. Grab it and go. It's ready for anything, daylight or dark.
Bottom: My field/tactical model. I have a number of barrels for it that make it quite versatile. Right now it carries a Polychoke so I can adjust the choke for whatever purpose I choose. These have gone out of style with the replaceable choke inserts now in vogue today, but they still work well and can give you a new purpose-driven gun with a twist of the wrist.

I am not normally a laminated, colored stock kind of guy but that blue laminate on the youth 870 looks very nice.
My youth 870 has a drab old plain wooden stock.

Some pretty wood on those Wingmasters.
Check out the deep, rich hand-carved checkering on this top o' the line model.
(not! ... we need a "sarcasm" font)
