I have a 10-8 with what I was told has target stocks on it. I put rubber Hogues on so my middle finger doesn't get beat to heck & back. I was watching You Tube and the guy's Model 10-8 had normal stocks, looked like something that had some space to keep trigger guard off middle finger.. I looked on the Bay, they said K frame, round butt, for what I was looking for. Is this what I want? They aren't expensive, or pretty, most of them, I just want wood. Thanks, Jeff
A photo of either your grip frame or the stocks you are viewing would help. Most model 10-8s were 4" with square butt frames and round butt stocks won't fit.
What you describe as the "normal" stocks i.e. the Hogues
are the target stocks.
Apparently your gun came with the usual stocks
which are "service" or Magna and conform to
the outline of the front and back strap and do not cover them.
Does your Model 10 have a square bottom frame; it's
the usual design. The round bottoms have a distinct curve
at the back of the frame.
