Colt Cobra At The Range
No targets to show, but I gotta tell ya...a Colt D frame is a great close-range, self defense weapon.
At 21 feet and closer, it was putting all of them where they needed to go. That's a real confidence booster.
And it ran like a little Swiss watch!
Took a while to find my ideal concealed carry gun... and this be it!

Both the Colt Cobra and Detective Special are fine pistols. Glad you got a good one.

I have both a Cobra and a 642 and prefer the Cobra for accuracy and handling but the 642 is more concealable and can handle +p ammo. Nothing is perfect.

I tested my Colt Agent against my S&W mod 38 last summer. Both were accurate enough. Colt had a better DA pull but the S&W was better in single action as I remember.

With the Jim Badger boot grips and bobbed and checkered hammer my Cobra is just as concealable as my 642.
And a light diet of Corbon DPX 110gr Barnes Bullets won't hurt it a bit.
Perrrrrrfect.

doc: Where's the "coated" one? I'd like to have a pre '34 DS (like everybody else) I've now got 2 DS's and 2 Cobras. All but one are post '66 short butt. That configuration offers the most available grip selection. I do carry 158gr. +P LSWC's in anyone of these I carry.

I purchased my Cobra in 1968 as my first off-duty weapon and still shoot it. I bobbed the hammer recently and find it is a great gun to carry concealed.

Maybe, but the smaller frame and cylinder..along with weighing 7 ounces less, makes the 642 a much better ankle or pocket gun.
