Man, that is a very good looking pistol. I have a soft spot for Colt Commanders. I don't own one, but I wish i did.

I might try them.
I had set of stainless hex screws and sold them with that gawdy set of Carbon Creation grips.
Put'em on, took'em right back off.

Good looking Commander, indeed. Just can't get over seeing 9mm on a Commander, though.
Mine isn't pretty, but, I've carried it on and off the job for many years... it now wears Alumagrips.

That looks all business!
I went with a 9mm because of ammo cost and to shoot IDPA with.
I bought a couple of Commanders in .45, but found I could shoot a 9mm better. Just bought a Square Deal B, so now I can really tune ammo to the gun.
It's my first 1911 project, and it sure has been fun!

Someone suggested stainless hex grip screws, so I tried a set from Ed Brown.

That does look nice, the contrast really 'pops'. One of these days I've got to get around to having one of the Colt's done up. The fanciest I've gotten so far is having Executioner make a set of custom grips from some Sambar Stag I sent him.
How does that shoot?
