Default 1903 rifle help please

Hi Group,
Any 1903 info from the group. I have had many 1903 or 1903-A3 and even an 1922 .22 cal. from CMP. I have 4 Springfield rifles now with all sort of accesorys, but I have NEVER seen this item.

A .22 cal. converson kit. This kit is made up of a .22 barrel with .22 chamber and loading ramp, 24 1/2 long with fine .22 rifleing.
A full stamped trigger guard and floor plate with a standard M-2 CLIP AND releace.
And a compleat M-2 bolt. All parts seem new, not a mark on the bolt face.

The barrel is packed in a GI type cardboard tube that looks like it was made for the barrel and the other two parts are packed in a GI type canvass and foil package for long term storage. The package is only marked "contental can co. Shelhamer-betner div.
MIL-36 June 57 Class 1.2

Anybody ever seen one of these????? I'll post some photos soon if that would help.

Thanks for the info in advance.

Numrich arms used to sell a conversion kit for the '03 and 03A3 to convert to .22lr.
Seems it had all the parts you're describing but it was some time ago (60's IIRC) so I could be wrong.
Maybe theirs used a liner instead of a complete new bbl.
Might be something they marketed or packaged up for a contract.

I know the Numrich kits were advertised in Guns Magazine in the mid 50's. If you'll Google "Springfield 22 Conversion Kit", you'll find some kits are, or have been, for sale on several of the auction sites. You can see photos of the complete kit.

Talking 1903 22 converson kit info.

Many thanks for the help guys, I knew someone on the forum could help. Looks like the last of these kits were sold by NUMRICH IN THE 1970S.
Very cool item, and should shoot just fine.

It will be something to see everyone at the range wait for the 30-06 "Blast" and hear only a .22 little "pop".

Saw a Numrich at the SCACA Greenville gun show this WE. In the $400 or $600 range - box and all parts.
