If the spelling is Folsom,,then it's:
H D Folsom. They were just the retail establishment. They sold firearms with all kinds of different names on them The list is probably 100 or more different brand names.
Knickerbocker (with a 'K') was one of those brand names used by Folsom.
The guns were made by the Cresent Firearms Co, which I think Folsom owned if I recall that correctly.
Cresent was in Norwich, Ct.
Folsom's retail address was NYCity.
Out of business before WW2.
If the gun does in fact pass a safety check, shooting it should not be a problem. Keep the ammo to the non-magnum class of course, the lower the pressure the better. There are thousands of the old timers still going out there. Just know their limits that's all.
