I've been attracted to one of those kits that contain a 16 inch barrel for a Colt Government Model, and a shoulderstock that attaches by replacing the mainspring housing. Haven't bought it yet. They're legal with the 16 inch barrel.
However I have other 45s, and wonder if these will get me in trouble with the Feds. Even though I keep the stock and long barrel on the same pistol, They could argue that I could attach the stock to one of the other pistols, with a 5 inch barrel, and create an illegal weapon. Anybody encounter this problem? What is the BATFE ruling?
