Default seen a beautiful Weatherby mark XXII today

So I was at my lgs paying for a new to me S&W 19-3 and I seen on the back shelf a Weatherby mark XXII made in Italy with scope in semi auto. I know they have started making them again but this gun was on consignment for $675. I have seen the older bolt action models going for a few hundred more dollars than that. Anyhow I have to go get my gun in 4 days just wondering what everybody in the know- thinks about that price. Wish I had a picture it had a more blondish wood with maple cap with gloss finish. Just a beauty of a gun. I have a Weatherby vanguard deluxe in winchester 243 that looks very similar and it has the best trigger of all my rifles and 1 ragged hole at 100 yards is simple with 5 shots, just accurate as they come! I can always offer a little less if it's in the ballpark, worst can happen is owner declines offer. Anybody own a mark XXII? What do you think about it?

I recall some 12-15 years ago a friend in our club had one and we shot side by side at a 50 ft range against my Anschutz match 54. If you didn't know which target was shot by which gun you couldn't have figured it out. They are amazingly accurate. They came in a tube fed and a magazine fed.

Weatherby MKXXII autoloaders were first made in Italy (no forearm caps), Japan and lastly in the USA (Mossberg). The bolt action's are much more recent and in a different class.

Weatherby MK XXII scopes are worth decent money. The value has come down and they seem to bring $150 in high condition. I sold one about five years ago with the box, papers and lens wipe for $500.

The USA autoloaders are worth the most, followed by the Italian guns, given equal condition. They were made in tube fed and magazine versions. It's impossible to know if the value of the gun you were looking at without more solid info.

They are a man sized rifle and a good shooter, but the collector value has declined.

Thank you all for your input. I do know it was magazine fed but not sure about scope. At least when I am there Saturday I will take a closer look at it. See if I can glean some more information about it. The scope looked to be pretty good size and seemed to be mounted up high so iron sights could also be used. Didn't see any markings on scope so I know it was not a Luepold or I would have seen gold rings.

Back when I started buying pre 64 M-70's I had an extra one in 264 mag, very nice. The local LGS got in 2 Italian WBYs in 22 LR. He thought they were too pricey to sell, I traded him the 264 and something else for both.

I sent in the warranty cards on both to WBY. For maty years Roy sent a Christmas card, they went to my old address pre marriage and Dad nabbed them.

I only shot one of the 2, it was super accurate. Since I did lots of hunting from a M-38 surplus Willys I was afraid it would get dings. I ended up selling both. Sort of wish one would have received a big ding so I'd have to keep it.

I looked for one when I was working and had extra cash, never saw one.

They are nice and worthy of owning.
