My favorite WWII German pistol
The HSc Mauser pistol (army marked) is one of my favorites from WWII. This pistol was manufactured around 1937 and looks very futuristic. (like a lot of German weapons). This was a replacement for the 1914 and 1934 Mauser pistols.
Thanks for looking,
Joe

One of those came up for sale here a few years ago.
I was broke so didn't buy it.
They are interesting looking guns.

HSc Mauser
At the end of the war,I had a Mauser like yours and a Luger,I gave the Mauser to my buddy and kept the Luger.A lot of German officers carried
the HSc Mausers.

I think the change from crown N to the eagle N proof was in the 1939 proof law and didn't get used until 1940. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Looks like something between a P5 and PPK. Is it just a blow-back?

I believe HSc production began in 1938 and from the slide markings of three lines between the model and caliber, I believe you have a late production gun. What is the ser# range? this website should help with info. Mauser Guns - Gun Collecting

english,
Nice Hsc you've got there. I was told that the Hsc was arguably
the best pocket pistol made. That may have changed, but they are still
pretty good at what they do.
I got an Interarms model, and found that it only liked FMJ, the
ammo it was designed for. A very classy design, IMO.
I added a pic of mine, guarding a Shooboy.

I liked my Hsc but did some trading and ended up with a HK4. The same designer of the Mauser Hsc also credited as the primary designer of HK's first pistol the HK4.
This is my HK4

Too bad the Germans knew so little about ballistics in the first half of the 20th century. Had they been as smart as us they would have known how useless the little 32 ACP is.
I've owned most of the WW2 eara 32 ACP pistols at some time of another and liked the HSc better than the PPK. I carried a FN1922 for a while and once mentioned this to a coworker who had been Special Forces in SVN early in the war. Next day he brought in an identical Nazi marked FN1922 in a shoulder holster. Said he picked it up in SEA in '64 and had the holster made there.

I had one just like it. I sold it last year. Pretty sweet little pistols and well built as you would expect.
