I'm curious what owners of the FAL and FNAR use for optics. Both guns shoot .308/ 7.62x51 ammo. Up to this point, I've been using Leupold scopes, but with money being tight, I'm willing to consider other brands.
If you have experience with the above weapons, I'd appreciate input on brands of scopes and models/types.
Does anyone have experience with KONUS rifle scopes? I have one of their spotting scopes and am very pleased with it.
I use a leupold 4X for my scoped FAL.It does every thing I need it to do.Fixed powers do best on FAL's,they are hard on scopes. Also the rifle itself is not a sniper grade weapon, you just don't need a big honking scope on them.
I have considered a hk clamp on scope for mine since they are built for the 308 or rather 7.62x 51. I have two stg 58's that are really good shooters. Of course I like to just shoot thing to watch em break. Doeboy

It may be hard to mount a scope properly on a FAL, but I would not call them "hard on scopes". With the gas set properly with the correct ammo the FAL has a very mild recoil impulse. I have a Leaper's 4x28 with the illuminated post reticle drop compensator knob. Certainly minute of goblin to 400 yards. Remember, the FAL is a battle rifle, not a precision piece. A 2 MOA FAL with standard 7.62 NATO ammo is a good one.
