Every one I've ever seen cost more than any vehicle I've ever bought- and that's the reproductions.

How come someone doesn't make one that's just a bit more affordable- say in the less than $10K range... I'd love to have one. Heck, even the rimfires are over that price range. Most of the period correct built centerfire ones today are in the $25K-40K range, and a real vintage one...well...I'd have to sell all my property to afford one. I think I'd just like to shoot a real, vintage one- just once. Has to be like being an engineer on a steam engine. *grins from ear to ear* Of course, shooting a Gatling gun from a steam engine would be the trick.

Maybe I've just watched The War Wagon too many times.

Oh well...away from the daydream and back to work and regularly scheduled programing.

Lost it all in a boat accident

This is not really a Gatling, but it does run with a crank you turn. The trigger bar pivots back and forth and fires each gun alternately. I saw one once, and it does work.

I used to have a Calico kit that took 2 10-22 Rugers mounted on their sides 1 throwing cases up and the other one throwing them down and you cranked a crank it had 2 50 round Mitchel mags. It was fine until you had a jam and them it could get dangerous, I got rid of it. Jeff

Just put one of those crank trigger pullers on an AR with a beta mag.

I've had the pleasure of shooting one, a reproduction, I suppose, and somewhere there's video of my white-haired mother running the gun. I think its owner is a former co-worker of our own Paladin85020, who might know more about the gun in question. I gather that owning these guns are somewhat akin to owning a fancy horse --- initially expensive, with high costs of care and feeding...

cjw3: I've also seen something similiar for the M1 carbine. In fact, I think the carbine version was the earlier.

A version was made that connected two AK-47's together also.
I just get along with my 1919 in .308 and a big crank attachment
let's you fire about 400 rounds per minute and looks nice up on the tripod.
Just belt up a couple hundred rounds & let her rip...
