anyone know much about that round ? I have a chance to get a glock 37 for $300

I have a G37 and like it very much. That said, the GAP round hasn't really caught on. I've stocked plenty of brass and it loads just like the ACP so I think I'm good for the rest of my lifetime. If you reload, i'd say go for it otherwise, mebbe not.

I have a Model 38 and 39, and I would scoop up a 37 at that price in a heartbeat.
500 people will show up here and tell you that it is a solution to a question no one has asked....but before they do, ask them if they have fired one.
ACP power in a 9mm frame. Very accurate.
The documented shootings against two legged varmints conclude that the GAP round is as effective as a handgun is going to be against such targets.
Ammo isn't THAT hard to find...WalMart doesn't carry it, but any reasonable LGS will have it, or can get it...and during the recent ammo crunch I stocked up on a good supply.
I have 3 Glocks now...a 19 I shoot with my silencer, and two GAPs...

If I ever buy another Glock it would be either a 10mm in the full size or that .45 GAP in the middle size like the 19. From looking into reloading books I think it should have been a better idea than the amount of credit it gets. The .45 ACP is a longer cartridge than many hands can grasp. I would have thought police stations would be all over it. Either way, I think it's an interesting idea enough that I will get one at some point. I know it would be a curse to many but I always hoped they would make the EMP into a Commander sized gun in GAP but they dropped the GAP EMP before it had much of a chance. I would snap at that deal you mentioned if you haven't already.

$300 is tempting, but I would pass. If it was the was a G38 it would be mine. The caliber looks like it will go the way of .41AE., but as a carry gun it looks like the same dimensions as my G36, with 2 more rounds. So I'd buy a bunch of .45GAP, and be happy with a $300 G38.

That's a good price for that gun, I'd grab it, if you need it... I've always heard good things about that round. The only problem with the .45gap, is that other manufacturers are resistant to producing their guns in a 'competitor's caliber.' Too bad, because it would probably become a popular caliber.

That is probably a good price for a gun that no one bought. It falls into the realm of marketing failure. In ten years it will be the gun that has the collectors spending large sums of money on it. It will be rare.
Buy it and wait for the collector crowd to go crazy and make some money on them.
Or you can shoot it and go thru the effort to find ammo and components to keep it running. It will be a novelty gun.
There are more normal guns out there.

If the GAP round was developed at the same time the 40 S&W round was, the GAP round would have been THE LEO round and the 40 would be an also ran.
However, that is not the world we live in. We shall see what history holds for it, but I am keeping mine, and will likely buy another.

It's my understanding that it has a fairly large following overseas. Also there are many LEO departments in the U.S. that are switching over to that round. So I am hesitant to dismiss the round at this time as a novelity or rare. I think Glock will continue to push this platform and make sure there is ammo available for it. Remember most big box stores only want to stock what sells.

I have read that South Carolina and Georgia HPs carry it.there is a used georgia marked HP model 37 at a gun store near my home.I am getting it I can reload for it .oh it comes with a fobus paddle holster and 4 mags and ammo.the guy shot a little over 50 rounds out of it. I do have a store in my town that does stock the ammo. and I have several guns to shot other than it.

If I found a G39 for $300, I'd buy it. The idea of a .45 the same size as a G26 is appealing. I don't believe this round is dead--it's been off to a slow start but is catching on.

Heck buy it. The New York and Pa. State Police use it as does the Fl and Ga. Hyw Patrol. Cant be all bad.

As I said, the shootings GSP has had with it, as well as NY and PA seem positive for the round....the size is excellent, reloading is accomplished with ACP dies, as well as bullets (uses small primers, but so does some ACP ammo leaving the factory now.
The G39 is a great concealed piece.
Downside....the slide is wider, therefore it isn't ALWAYS a match to a holster made for a G22, 19, 17, 32, etc....so check the fit before you buy if you can.
If we hadn't sold our agency G22's and 23's and replaced them with the same thing two years ago, I would swap our agency to the GAP as well.
(the GAP is approved for duty use, I just don't issue them. We also approve other platforms as well)

Buy it! I bought a like new G37 w/three mags (a PA HP trade in) and I love it! I have had a G21 for years and never carry it. I've carried my
G23 for at least 15 years (eleven on duty) and it now gets left at home. I carry the G37 almost daily. I can find ammo at several gun shops here in SW Washington as well.
