I had one that would run on any FMJ or roundnose ammo but refused to feed anything with a hollowpoint. That was before the rounds with the polymer ball loads, so those might have worked, but I will never know.

My friend had one. When they went from 32 to 380 I don't think they increased the mass of the slide much, but they increased the recoil spring tension to the point it's hard to cock. Try it before you buy.

The Hsc really feels good in the hand, from a shooting
perspective, but it seems huge when trying to find a way to
carry it. It's bigger than a like-sized Browning .380, but not
by much. Visibly thicker thru the slide. It feels lighter than the
Browning, haven't weighed either one.
I'd be interested in hearing how you end up. TACC1

Hi:
Just a thought (I am not an expert).
Years ago I was issued a Browning Hi-Power 9mm (Fixed Sight Model).
The browning would function only with FMJ. The Agency then issued me
Ram-Line magazines for the Browning. The Browning would then function with JHPs.
You might consider testing with a different manufacture magazine.
