Default Old Long Guns

Was rumaging around in the walk-up attic of our old family home in Southern Ontario, not far from Buffalo,NY and 'found' several old long guns that I had not seen in 20+ yrs.

Googled but could not find any good info.

Of Note.

Enfield(not Lee-Enfield) ,top loading,lever action,single shot,caliber not marked but > 30.
Markings

( Fancy Crown )
V.R.
Enfield
1883
( Heart with cross )
III
I
Believe that this was great-uncles from the Boer War,also have calvary sword and officers dress helmut.

Remington,rolling block.,No 1 ?

Markings
Remington
Ilion NY
(Patent dates from 1873-83 )
44-on bottom of hex barrel

Also some sort of muzzle loader,no obvious markings,we used to call it 'the Daniel Boone gun'.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Will try to post pictures if anyone is interested.Learning new digital camera that I got to document restoration of '28 Chevy, which is a going to be a big ongoing project.

Except for the fancy rear sight on mine, does the Enfield look like this?:

Or more like this one? Again, ignore the fancy sights on mine.

Go here:

and look at the third rifle down.

If that's what it is, here's what you feed it:

Check here for a buttplate. They seem to have a lot of Martini-Henry parts.

Are you going to restore the rifle to shooting condition or just make a wall-hanger?

Marshburg is about two and a half hours from me. Haven't heard about any gunshows coming up.
