I have a Plus II and I enjoy shooting it because it is all steel, has a hammer, and is and heavier than the plastic guns.

It is a good quality single action auto pocket pistol made like a 1911. I could not bring myself to carry it in my pants pocket cocked and locked like a full size 1911. A belt holster was not a good option. It took two hands to work the slide to chamber a round. If I carried it with a round in the chamber, it was awkward to cock the hammer with one hand.

So I found a double action only Colt Pony for pocket carry. It is the same size and weight as the Mustang Pocketlite and uses the same magazines and pocket holster. No safety to thumb off or hammer to cock.

The Mustang was not a good fit for what I needed. I didn't say I got rid of it, just that the Pony worked out better.

I love them and can't wait to get my hands on one of the new production. That said, they have their problems. I had a Mustang Pocketlite; after about 1500 rounds of pretty mild cast bullet handloads, the steel barrel was peening the alloy frame where the breech came down on the frame in recoil. Also, there's a sharp edge on the bottom of the trigger guard, that pinches my trigger finger when I release the trigger. I've had three of these things; don't have any now, and can't wait to get another.

I have the Pony Lite and I like it better than the Mustang. I do not care for cocked and locked with no grip safety in my pocket.

I have the Gov't Model Pocketlite. Carries for 10 years, totally reliable.

I've carried my Pocketlite cocked and locked in a Del Fatti pocket holster for close to 20 years. The safety is reliable! I DO NOT place anything else in my carry pocket! It's a great little pistol. Glad to see Colt is manufacturing them again!
