Ruger Mini 14 20 round magazine markings
Does anyone know for certain if early Ruger factory magazines for the Mini14 came without any markings on them as to who manufactured them? I have seen some in tattered Ruger white cardboard boxes that have a plastic base plate and without Ruger stamped anywhere on them. Anyone know if Ruger ever delivered Mini14 mags like this unmarked? Any distinguishable features?

The oldest one I have is a 10 round mag.
It's marked with the Ruger emblem and name.

Pretty sure that all the old ones have the Ruger Eagle Emblem on the bottom, not sure of the new ones though.

The new ones have the eagle and "ruger mini 14" on the metal floor plate. It also has the eagle and Sturm, Ruger and Co. Inc. Southport Conn. USA on the side

This is an old topic, but the 20 round curved Mini-14 magazines with the plastic base plate held in with spring loaded pins are original factory Ruger AC-556 magazines.
They were made by cutting down the 30 round magazines until Ruger got the tooling to make 20 round mags from scratch. They work great and are somewhat collectable. I have several of these, two of them came with my 1977 vintage series 180 Mini-14 that was originally sold to police.

i have 5 original factory 30rd ruger blue steel mags. the floor plates are blued steel and are just marked with the eagle and sturm ruger and co. ive got 2 more that are original factory ruger that are 30rd and are not marked at all. they came in the original old style ruger white box marked 30rd. i called ruger and asked them about it as i thought i was getting ripped off and they ( ruger) told me that there WERE some of the 30rd originals that were LE mags that DID NOT have any markings on them. i found this kind of strange myself, but they are identical to the marked ones i have, just no markings.
