The Colt Bisley Beer Bottle Opener, Skeeter Skelton Style
"Beware the man with only one gun, he probably knows how to use it." So said Skeeter in one of his articles. And he mentions a Portales N.M. merchant who's only gun was a Colt Bisley 38-40 he wore in a Myres Half Breed shoulder holster and a hidden money belt, and that he was never robbed. The only use the pre-permanent teeth Skeeter said he saw the man use his gun for was to open Busweiser bottles. Well, I had to see for myself and let me tell ya', it works perfectly.
This beer's for Skeeter Skelton!

The way you have the bottle under the hammer your beer will pour out when you pop the top. Larry

No, you hold the beer upright so the gun's muzzle is pointing up, away from your head or your freinds, and then you pop it open. I said it worked. I didn't say it was really all that safe.

That would be a classic example of alcohol abuse

Do they even bottle 'Bud with a non-twist off cap any more?

I was trying to make a joke. I will admit to being a little off but I'm not as dumb as my wife says I am. Larry

At first I was going to hold the gun and beer bottle in opening position and have my wife take the picture, but she would just think I'm being a goof and roll her eyes so I didn't bother. I thought you might be joking but wasn't sure.
And all you Budweiser haters. This is the beer Skeeter mentioned. If he said the guy drank "Donkey Snot Cactus Nectar" I'd have bought a sixpack of that. I had to be scientific even though they are twist tops, and BTW, I drink Bud all the time!

I like Goat's Breath Hard Cider better myself. I open the bottles with a Ladysmith.

Ahhhh, Skeeter. He was truly the best. No one writes about guns like he did. His anecdotes, like the Bisley opening the beer, were hilarious.
Of course, a 1911 is quite safe since the slide has to be locked back to make it into the perfect beer bottle opener.
Works perfectly!
