Default T-series Browning HiPower finished by our own Guzzitaco

This was a very good deal at my local gun shop, and I grabbed it up.
Sent it off to my friend Guzzitaco for a refinish, and he did not disappoint. He cut a dovetail for the front sight and added a gold bead, and finished in a very rich black blue. The color is excellent, the attention to detail is even better. He does incredible things with Smith and Wesson pistols, but that is by far not his only talent!!
I am over the moon. Its a wonderful bit of work!

Nice work.
I'm a big fan of gold bead front sights.

thank you guys for the nice comments...

a few important remarks:

1) Dovetail cut for the front sight was done by BMCM. Why? Simple, he is the best and I couldn't risk this slide since this was the first High Power I've ever worked.

2) Old steel is tricky. The frame and the slide are made of one type of steel and the small pieces are made of another. Small pieces appear to have high chromium content. I had to alter the bluing solution a bit and "cook" them hotter and longer. It took a couple of attempts.

3) I decided to leave some small pitting marks on one side to preserve the roll marks. In this project roll marks were important, really important.

4) Finish is satin: as the roll marks were important, I didn't want to risk erasing them more by brushing the slide. So, I decided to blast the parts with a fine mix. I had "erased" all the dents and scratches before.

It was a fun project. Took some time but I learned a lot.

Now, I'm tempted to get a High Power for myself...

Guzzi
