Blackie Collins is Dead
I was just informed that Blackie Collins, the famous knife designer, was killed last week in a motorcycle accident.
You may know that Blackie designed most of the original S&W knives decades ago. Blackie designed many noteworthy knives and was still active in design consulting.
My sincere condolences to his friends and family.

Dang!! Sorry to hear this also. We just had a fatality on the Kenai peninsula with two people on a motorcycle getting killed by a 23 year old driving a jeep. He crossed the center line and both people on the motorcycle were killed. Blackie Collins' name has been on several knives I owned in the past. I heard he was a real nice guy also. Life is short, so live each day and try to be happy.

Blackie was an innovative man, and I've heard that he was a
good man, as well. I've read of people who interviewed him, and were all impressed by him. I'm sorry he's gone. My sympathy goes out to his
family and friends. TACC1

I met Mr. Collins many years ago through a mutual acquaintance. We talked for maybe twenty-thirty minutes. A nicer gentleman would be hard to find. Godspeed, Blackie, and condolences to your family.
