My latest 9mm purchase
Gen. II Glock 19, going to pick it up tomorrow evening. I like this frame style the best. Going to keep this one.

The good old Glock 19. I have a few Glocks myself. I like them and trust them. They are extremely functional pistols.

At one time I had three 19s. I'm down to two now, and one of them is in my bug out bag. Can't imagine a better gun for when things get tough.

Congrats on your gen2 Glock 19.
The gen2 Glock 19 fits better in my hands as well compared to the gen3 with finger grips.
Enjoy your G19!
Here is a picture of my Gen2 Glock 19 that I bought a few months ago.
I bought extra mags via Topgun Suppy and then labeled them with my p-touch labeler.

Interesting idea with labeling. My only question is, why did you number them? Forget how many you had, or do Glock mags have functioning issues, and you use that to try and identify which one?

Can we get some kind of forum rule that requires something in a thread title like "Glop Warning," so those of us with delicate sensibilities don't have to endure a visual assault when we open the thread?
I was hesitant when I saw "9mm" in the title, but I figured, "Hey, probably a Browning HP!"
Boy, was I disappointed.

You should have known better. lots of Glockers on this forum as witnessed by the number of Glock topics lately compared to those about (for instance) Browning High Powers

Here you go, a 9mm and a .40 S&W. I have owned the 9mm about thirty years, IIRC.

I have a 2nd gen G22 and the later 3rd gen version. I also prefer the feel of the 2nd gen.
One small improvement I made was to apply some of those textured adhesive grip panels and they help keep a consistent grip.
On all my Glocks, I also installed an extended take down lever.
Aesthetics aside, they really are excellent pistols. We have available today a good crop of polymer frame/striker fired pistols, some that might equal Glock but none that are superior IMO.

Thank you Moondawg,
You explained it quite well.
I also have a variety of firearms like many on this forum with between 1/2 dozen to 2 dozen magazines per firearm.
My family members are not all into firearms, so when I kick the bucket...I wanted a way to identify my numerous magazines in relationship to my firearms to make it easier for the family to organize and sort-out in when they receive them in their inheritances.

I snapped this photo prior to returning the G19 to the Mothership. Dead night sights, only one no drop magazine, two mis-matched ten round mags, nothing to look at. "Plain". I think the Amish people use this term to describe things, even women. It works for a Glock.
A few hours and some twenty parts later.
I had the dead NS replaced with factory steel sights. All three mags were upgraded to drop free high capacity mags, all internal frame parts replaced, all parts in the slide BUT my old non-LCI extractor were replaced. The frame rails were bevel cut on the rear edges. Also got a G26 mag rebuilt and a +2 extension installed on it. I paid $20.00 for the steel sights, everything else was free. I love Glock customer service.
I stopped on the way home and purchased a grip frame insert to plug that silly hole in the grip. I am into this package for $298.92. Of course, I don't have a dedicated holster for this one but the Galco I bought for my G26's seems to work just fine.
No accessory rail, no finger grooves. John Wayne never needed those things, I should be fine without them.

Very pretty.
The thing I like about Glocks are the lines- graceful enough to double as a Speedsquare.
And that finish- I wish S&W had mastered that brick-like sheen.
AND, they keep plastic out of land fills!
shoot 'em if you like 'em- I don't really mind.....

I've owned several Glocks. I have a G22 that was issued to me and a G20 that is my anti-road rage piece that lives in my glove box. I bought the 10 mm because I like that caliber and also the fact a friend of mine carried it for a long time before he retired. That said, my last 9 mm purchase is a S&W 5906. I could kick myself for letting my 5903 go in a trade so I feel a little better after trading into the 5906. After replacing the grips it looks new. It shoots very well and now I have a place to park all those old 5903 mags.

My first handgun purchase was a 5904 in 1992. I ended up selling it to help pay for some stupid mistakes I made soon after purchasing it. Over the years, I have always looked at those 5904's and 5906's when I see them. I might one day buy another one.

I sure can appreciate your G19. What a heck of a deal. I have been keeping an eye out for a 2nd Gen 19.

he,
I like the color "chartreuse" best for my stocks.
I start carrying a second generation Glock Model 19 in the late Spring and carry it through to about the first of October.
During that time I have to accessorize the 19 with my official Uniform of the Retired LEO in Texas, T-Shirt, shorts, ball cap and sandals/tennis shoes. A LCP .380 is just so avant garde in a cargo pocket to go along with the Model 19.
If I go to Dallas, Houston, San Antonio or the Border, that's a whole nother game and its .45acp time and the Model 30 becomes a BUG.
I try to stay away from El Paso, Del Rio, Laredo, Brownsville.
Lot goes on in those areas that is suppressed by the news media, for the good of the "people".
