Default A German "Cold war" rig

This 1922 Belgium pistol was issued to the Berlin police during the "Cold War". Notice the A code along with a flower (kind of a rough looking flower). The holster came with it so I assume it was issued with the pistol.. (A WWII issued holster).
Thanks for looking,
Joe

Jr. bought one almost like it at a gunshow today. It doesn't have a holster or the "A" or the flower. Serial number is 69322. I can't tell if yours has the Nazi markings or not, but his does. Everything else is the same. He knows a lot about these things but is asleep right now as he has to get up early. If you want to talk to him about it contact me and I'll get you his phone number.

That’s interesting. I would have assumed the flower was the Imperial Japanese chrysanthemum. Does it still have the spare magazine?

With only slight thread drift, most of us remember the scene in BoB with the German Officer surrendering his side arm to Maj. Winters in Austria and most of us know the handgun was a 1922 Browning. However, did you know it was a Turkish contract Browning? So the pistol was likely liberated twice during WW2, once by the German Officer and once by Maj. Winters.

Interesting point. I thought it was Japenese or maybe the Hong Kong Police but it was identified in Vanderlinden's book as being a Berlin Police pistol from the Cold War period.
