That is a good looking gun. I like Colt's too, have a DS and a Combat Commander. I bought the DS to replace a model 36. I wish Colt would go back to making revolvers, it seems like they really don't want to be in business anymore.

I like Colts too. I don't have a Python (yet), but do have a few. This is the only really interesting one I suppose.
It's an Official Police, 4" barrel, made in 1939. Nothing really interesting about that, but the backstrap is stamped "Treasury Department Secret Service".
Probably has a pretty mundane history as a uniform guards gun, but it's still interesting to wonder where it's been and who it's seen.
Beautitul Python BTW....One of these days..

There are rumors of Colt getting back into the revolver field. But it will have to be with a all new simplefied design. The old one is just too labor intenseive and costly too produce and sell for a price anyone is willing to pay, when there are perfectly good S&W's avalible for less. And Charters, Rossis, etc. For much less.

Tunachaser, that's one mighty handsome looking Colt! They look very proper with those original handles too. Outstanding!
There is something about a finely tuned Colt double action. I'll join your thread with my Fitz'ed Colt Official Police:

Have to ask, what's going on with the trigger guard? Never seen anything like it on modern day hand guns before.

mm6mm6, that is one of the neatest revolvers that I have seen. Thanks for showing us. All my best, Joe.
