My Half-Priced FITZ SPECIAL
Wasn't sure if I should post this in the Lounge or the Revolver section. Here's a recent acquisition of mine. The previous owner said this Model 10 was sent out for a FITZ SPECIAL modification. It has nice case coloring on the trigger and hammer, but the grips aren't factory original. I made the seller cut his price in half.
So, what do y'all think?

Yes, you're correct. I was so excited about finding this one, I overlooked that point.

Any refinishing markings under the grips? If it's factory then changes everything.

Called S&W customer service. They said it was OK to use +P ammo.

Actually, when I saw those grips, I got flustered. They were supposed to be the elusive K Frame Cokes.

It might look better with a set of Ropers on it. I wonder if Lee has any left.

I'm guessing it is, I just can't figure out where you put it.

Dave Chicoine can finish up where the last guy left off. Should be able to get a good rate since the job is half done. I'm thinking some chrome, black pearl Jay Scotts, engine turned hammer and trigger and maybe some dehorn on the top strap so she won't snag. If Dave doesn't have time, check with the Red Jacket boys on Sons of Guns. They'll get'er done.
Now what kind of leather ?? Hmmmmm

It occurs to me that in the right holster we may have found the
ultimate S.F. open carry rig.
I am sure better possibilities will come to someone.
How about instructing someone where they can put it?

Something about it kept bugging me. I finally figured it out - the grips were not original factory.
I think this looks a lot better. What do y'all think?
