"Off" Brand
I found this mutt at the Murfreesboro, TN. show, yesterday. A private sale, made an out-the-door offer and the sellar bit.
The tag was from the original sale in '73, I offered that price and got a shake-of-the-head and a toothy grin.
This filled a hole on the "long list."

So, was that a "No" >shake-of-the-head<, or a "Yes" shake? And if a "No", what did you end up paying?

Alpo,
The shake was a "no". My offered price was 5 "c"'s, on which, he bit. His tag was, uh, substanially "north" of that!

I think the original purchase price is reasonable for today- he should have taken it.

Erich,
Your "Astra" comment got my research juices flowing. I just could not feature having bought a Spaniard (Fie on me)! Upon further research:
The Standard Catalog of Colt states that, as a result of the '68 GCA (no more importation of little-bitty pistols), this pistol was re-introduced as an American made product in 1970 and was produced for 2 more years.
So, I reckon the 1973 shipping date, as per proofhouse, is plausible.
Astra or Colt, I agree, it's a handy little unit!
Regards,
(Ilike'mericanstuff)Mike
