Default Old School revolver and holster, Ruger Blackhawk and Bianchi "Lawman"...

Well, I got my 1967 vintage "Old Model", Three Screw Ruger Blackhawk .357 sorted out with proper grips and some vintage leather. As I posted earlier, Ruger refused to sell me grips for the revolver unless I sent it back to have the action updated to the new transfer bar. That wasn't going to happen, and it was painless to find a set of grips on Ebay for little money to make the revolver look right. Found a vintage Bianchi "Lawman" holster on Ebay to match it, and a Bianchi gun belt in my size at the flea market for the princely sum of $25!

The revolver shoots great, very accurate with a nice trigger. This revolver has 50 yard accuracy, I'm able to hit a 6" swinging steel target 100% using the rested, "Sitting" position, arms on the knees. Seems to like faster, heavier bullets, a noticable accuracy difference as velocity increases. This one is going to be fun handloading for....

New grips:

Bianchi "Lawman" holster:

Bianchi gun belt with .357 shell loops:

I don't even own a cowboy hat or boots! My wife thinks I'm going through some mid life crisis, she says if she finds a serape in my closet, there's going to be trouble!

The belt and holster combination is hard to conceal without a serape or cowboy duster, both making you stand out a bit at the grocery store....

Fine revolver. I also would not convert it. The holster is one of my favorite Bianchi designs. The first holster I ever bought was a 10L for my 6" 28-2. I'd be thrilled to find another... 4" or 6" as I have a 6" 28 and a 4" 24 that need holsters. Glad you found yours!

Nice. I wore (and still have) an OM 4 5/8 blackhawk .357 with a black drop loop gunbelt/holster combo. It was my first centerfire handgun and I used to wear it in the woods all the time when I was young. It always looked like I was expecting a shootout, but it was such a cool rig I didn't care. I am working by tail off to get back into the rig after gaining a bit of weight. It is just too much fun at the range.

More often than not when I am working around the place I am packing a Flat top OMBH 4 5/8". My midlife crisis started about 20 years ago and there is no end in sight.

Nice gun and leather, I like three screws the best too.

I bought a Ruger Bisley in .41 mag a few years ago and the shop threw in a Hunter cowboy rig with it. I've worn it a few times while hunting and found out they are very practical. The gun is low enough you don't bang your long gun on it and pretty easy to draw from too. I can see why cowboys used them. I don't have the boots and hat to match either.

An excellent old Model with the perfect classic Skeeter Skelton style rig. He had one just like it. After years of travel the gun, holster, and belt were destined to eventually intersect with you now to make the most practical of rigs.

It's kind of "scary" to hear people call "stuff" I bought new "vintage". I still use the very same gear it's just now you young whippersnappers are making me feel old.

THE classic rig. I have the same basic rig (various incarnations of the old Threepersons rig) for most of my guns. Most made by EPS but several Bianchis, hunter, and I've made several myself. Mine are for 1911s, vaqueros and Blackhawks and S & W K and N frame. Think I even have one for a Detective Special.

My 1970 vintage Super Single Six rests in a similiar arrangement.

There is no reason to conceal a leather holster with a steel and wood gun. Be proud of them. A grown man with a plastic holster and a plastic gun should hide them. Larry

C-Noe, I'd say ya dunn good. I love the heck out of my 4 5/8" .45 Colt. I got a newer Galco holster for it. I sure do like Bianchis' leather. The cyclone is my favorite. Cross-draw and strong side appeals to me.
