Pistol caliber auto rifles/carbines
I bet more than a few here have some pistol caliber semi-auto rifles and carbines around.
Let`s see em.
Here are a couple to start off.
A Ruger .44 Mag auto & a Auto Ordnance Thompson in .45acp.

Marlin Camp 9. 9mm. Uses S&W mod. 59 mags
Uberti Rolling Block carbine. .357 mag. No magazines needed.
I don't have a picture of it ready, but I have a A Kel-Tec Sub-2000, 9mm folding carbine. It uses Beretta 92 mags. If I can get the part, this one can be changed over to S&W mags.
The Uberti I've had 12 years and of course is just great.
The Marlin is my non-tactical assault weapon. Just the thing for the low profile Ninja.
The Kel-Tec was a gift from an old friend. My old eyes don't work with the sights. So I put a laser on it. It's a lot of fun to play with on foggy nights!

Most of my pistol caliber carbines are levers, not autos.
I do have these, although they are not semi-auto.
MP5A3 and a 1942 Erma-made MP40

A bit of an oddball............the Mech-Tech Carbine Conversion in .460 Rowland, and it will also shoot 45ACP loads. It's a blowback design that uses a 1911 lower, other models will take a Glock lower. Hot loads will push a 185-JHP to nearly 2000 fps, 230's to 1650 or more. I built it as a pig hunting/HD rifle. Lots of fun to plink with, and scary-accurate.

Tell us more about the Mech-Tec Carbine. Accuracy, reliability etc.
One advantage to a Pistol calibre carbine, is that you can shoot it on a lot of ranges where you cannot shoot a "real" rifle calibre carbine.
And they are just plain fun and cheaper to shoot.
Once upon a time I had a H&K 94. I am not a fan of the 9mm, but the H&K 94 was an EXCELLENT gun, as all H&K long guns are.

The Mech-Tech is available in the two formats mentioned, in a variety of pistol calibers. 9mm, 40S&W, 10mm, .460 Rowland (1911 only), and 45ACP are among the calibers offered. (Others may have been added since I had mine built two years ago.) Since it's "just an upper", and carries no unique serial number, it can be ordered online and delivered via UPS ground.
The lower unit slides into place and is fastened via the same method as it does with its own upper unit. The blowback action lets the heavy bolt slam back against a stiff rubber block behind it, so heavy loads aren't an issue. My .460R will also shoot 45ACP ammo, which is necessarily loaded hot enough to work the action. Factory 45 defensive loads work fine, target and softball loads do not. Just a guess, but I'd bet the 10mm would also work with 40S&W loads, since the shell is held in place by the extractor anyway.
If I ever build another one of these for a Home Defense rifle, I'd get a Glock 20 lower in 10mm, since each magazine holds 15 rounds. With light bullets in the Ten, velocities over 2,000 fps seem easily attainable from the 16" barrel.
Accuracy has been astounding with the ammo it likes........1/2" groups at 50 yards aren't the norm, but have been observed from more than one rifle. Reliability is mostly based on the use of good magazines and ammo powerful enough to move the heavy bolt. Ejection can be, shall we say, "vigorous" with stout loads, but not as bad as most AK's. Milder loads land a foot or two away. Loads with too little poop don't make it out of the action, and get smooshed.
This was 5 shots at 25 yards with a 6X scope.

In the center of this picture is my Ruger PC4 'police carbine' in .40 S&W. Disappointing that Ruger has discontinued this line due to weak sales, I really like mine and find it to be 100% reliable and plenty accurate.

I have that same carbine with ghost ring sights and found it very reliable and accurate. I bought the matching pistol that shares the same mags and it makes a great duo for carrying in the woods or in an automobile.
Too bad they discontinued them as they are good guns and the .40 S&W not a too shabby pistol round either.

Most don't really consider the .30 carbine to be a pistol caliber. It's performance is above typical handgun classifications, but it's not quite a chest thumping rifle cartridge either. It's, well, a carbine caliber. Something in the middle, kind of a one off. Sure, there have been a couple of handguns chambered in .30 carbine, but that was after the fact.
I find the .30 carbine to be a interesting round and fun shoot as mated to the M1 carbine.

I have the Storm also. It is in 40S&W 17 round mags and is very easy to shoot fast well.

This is as good as it gets for me, 1894 44mag.
Of course, if I were to cheat a bit, the BFR is chambered in 45-70, just like this 1895.

the only problem of any sort with the Ruger carbine is that it has to use Ruger mags...!! Very hard to find in this part of the world, new or used...

I got lucky with the Ruger carbine mags as the pistol came with two and a friend on another forum gave me a couple more. His gun was stolen but they didn't get the mags he had for it.
