Located a 12 round mag for my M&P 9 compact. It was less than the Ruger 10 round mag I bought a couple weeks ago for my SR-22.

Hungarian PA-63, a Walther PP clone in 9mm Makarov. The frame is hard aluminum and formed so the slide does not slice your hand like a Walther. It kicks real good due to the light weight, but is very accurate and reliable. Spare magazines? Ha! I think I found the last one in the country! Nice for carrying but not so much for shooting, just like a 342.

Over the last few months I have been able to find a nice holster and belt for my 1911-A1. A few weeks ago I found a holster for which I've been looking for several years. I found a Bianchi No. 10 Outdoorsman for my 4" 28-2. The neat thing is both items were found in the classifieds of this site. Very cool.

Set of Grips for the M&P9 from our forum member streakpi (A2 stippling), A FN FNS9, and a safariland holster for it. If you have a M&P and want a bit more texture You won't find a better product than what streakpi is putting out looks like it came factory ( I got the #8 set).

.44 Mag
Just bought a beautiful, very clean Model 29-3. Seems to be either a Performance Center-type gun or had some after-market work done.
Extra-wide trigger and hammer spur, target sight, Ben Jordan Pachmayr grip, the Smith & Wesson and .44 Magnum roll marks are painted white.
Shoots like a dream- dead on accurate and has a great trigger pull both single and double action with a clean break!
My new dream gun!

Hmmm? Well if you don't count my little Browning 1911, with sambar stocks and LOBOGUNLEATHER holster, or some reloading components, it would be a NITB Mdl 639 -- Now being broke-in very nicely thank you.

I already made a thread, and technically it's on layaway, but it's a Ruger MKIII
Ruger 22/45 5.5 BL AS $314.00 SHIPS FREE
I plan to let it stay on layaway 45 days, not the whole 90 offered. I am in no rush so it just means about 75 bucks every 2 weeks for 3 payments total (I already put down 65)
We'll see though if I am not tempted to get it quicker. I already have the money, but as I mentioned in my thread I made, I am supposed to be saving money and putting all that money down at once would kind of make me feel I am doing the exact opposite.

Just purchased a M&P 10 and a 627-PC UDR, both NIB. Always wanted a .308 AR but had to wait on the prices to return to normal levels and finally purchased one. The 627 was snagged off of GB for a very good price. The seller had a one day auction and i lucked into it...around $500 less than what they currently go for on GB. The price of pre-lock UDRs are sky high, if they even come up for sale. I gave up on finding one of those and bought one with the IL. I'll buy a plug kit and save $1k - $2k

.22/.32 Target
Had a separate thread on this one, but figured it couldn't hurt to share again. Just picked this up last week. All the numbers match right down to the serial numbers stamed inside the stocks. Got a really good deal on it too.

I picked up a S&W Model 36 - 3" barrel - yesterday. Going to find a nice little holster for it............NICE....
Also bought a new Heritage Combo (.22 LR/.22WMR) RR 3" birds head grip for a car gun. Just in case I forget to "carry" a real gun at least there will be something in the car.

I am SOOO gonna be in the doghouse with the wife. I broke down and bought an I.W.I Tavor. Honestly it was because I was afraid they were gonna do something to stop imports. Anyway, the thing is freaken awesome bullpup design and uses std AR magazines. ( good thing cause the one that came with it really sucks). i wonder what she is gonna say when the credit card bill comes in?

In the panic this past January I sold an AK, 14 mags and 1000rnds ammo and purchased 4lbs Bullseye, 500 LSWC .45 bullets, and a 1992 Series 80 Enhanced Colt Lightweight Commander, a grail gun for me.

I picked up a couple 25 round mags, and a Tru Glo red dot for my kids 15-22. I am currently resisting my first 1911 purchase. I will probably be getting a Ruger SR Commander very soon.

Soon to arrive in the mail, The Modern Gunsmith by Howe and loading for the 45/70 trapdoor springfield by Wolf. The upper book is the two volume set dated 1941 and a lot was left out when the updated one volume book came out. And the second book for the trapdoor springfield as I want to get a nice one. Frank

What a GREAT thread!!
From the Dallas Gun Show:
My table partner has a sign on the table "Wanted: Mauser Pistols", since he collects the Mauser pocket pistols in all their varieties, and an ocasional broomhandle. He was away from the table when a man aproached and asked "Do you really buy Mauser Pistols"? When I assured him we did, he fumbled around in a vinyl bag. What follows is always a heart stopping moment: you don't know if what's coming out is a rusty, junked example of a common gun or something rare. This was sorta in between. It was what Breathed and Schroeder call the Model 1930 Transitional broomhandle; it has the stepped barrel of the 1930 but none of its other characteristics. They only occur in the 700,000 SN range and are scarce although not rare. He said his father had brought it back from WW II; perhaps he got his wars wrong for the P 38 (steel not aluminum) tied to the leather lanyard is stamped US Koolaire 1951. It's not a mint specimen; the blotches are rust, although not deep enough to cause pitting. The safety is broken and I had removed it for these photos. The magazine spring is also broken, and the little spring around the tip of the firing pin is represented by only a few coils. The bore is about what you'd expect, although I think it will be better when I apply some JB Bore Cleaning Paste to it. Nevertheless, when I get the replacement parts it will be shot, and since I didn't have one of this model it will hang right next to my Model 1930 on the wall.
I also picked up a Rock Island Armory Compact 45. The daughter of a friend has one of these and I've shot it. I was impressed. It's all steel so the recoil isn't much worse than a full sized 45. It's very handy and fits in a pocket nicely. Night sights may be in its future. I like the beavertail grip safety which prevents me from bleeding all over the gun from hammer bite. The trigger pull is good, and I'll see if a full length 4 prong trigger spring will fit to make it better. I haven't fired mine yet, but I will try it with JHPs, my 230 gr RN cast bullet reloads and my 180 gr SWC cast reloads. The instruction book says it's not guaranteed to feed SWCs without some work on the feed ramp, so we will see. If it feeds JHP OK it has a place beside my computer so when at night, like now, if I hear 'noises off', I have something to fill my fist. This role is now filled by a Model 39-2, which will go back into the collection whence it came.
I also found this Luger shoulderstock. It will go on my LP 08 (Artillery Luger). I don't know if it's reproduction or not and would appreciate feedback from the forum on this. I'm no Luger expert.

Into one of the LGS's a month, or so, ago. One of my friends, who works there, told me not to look in the 1911 display case. Riiiiight! This Government Model was in there. Colt 1911, in .38 Super.
Then, went to a LGS on Friday, in search for a Lightweight Commander in .38 Super. I figured I was safe, since they're somewhat rare birds. The latest one is a Colt Talo:

I didn't officially buy this, it was a Fathers day/Birthday (Monday) present from the wife. She knows the way to my heart (I would hope so after 36 years).

My latest firearms purchase was a S&W model 66 no dash. It's off to the factory for some minor repairs. Needed an oversized hand to fix a carry up issue and needed a new rear sight elevation adjustment mechanism. For some reason the adjustment screw wouldn't turn at all. I sent it off in mid March, just got the estimate letter in mid May. Hope to have it back here soon.
My latest hunting purchase is a new Foxpro Fury II game call. works great.

I just bought a mosin nagant. I have been wanting one for a while. I just happened to have a little extra cash laying around so I made the purchase along with a 440rd can of ammo. It's still in the mail, so I can't wait to get them but I know the cleaning will not be easy. I may look into buying one of those chinese type 53 carbines to go along with it seeing as they are so cheap.

Has anyone seen one of the SKSs converted to look like a WW I French Chauchat? The one I saw fooled me for quite a while, until I began to recognise pieces of the mechanism.
