I keep coming back......this is getting expensive. But here is the latest that is waiting at my FFL. In fact picked it up here from a member quick and efficient process and a bargain to boot. Gluck 20 10mm in FDE. This will my second, they are great hog guns here in Texas.

A Benjamin 392 air rifle pump kind, made in USA I'm happy to say.
The manual cautions against pumping more that 8 times, What! I'm worn out after the required 3 strokes! It does seem pretty powerful even after 3-4 strokes.
I'm going to see if this year I can keep the assorted varmints out of my fig and Persimmon trees.

If I may be so bold.
Looks to be a Pachmayr Grip Glove.
Had one on my Shield. Very comfortable, but adds a little thickness.

Yeah, the reason I went with the Pachmayr grip sleeve is that
it's easier than the Hogue to slip on(esp. over the Talon grip that was already on).

My latest purchase is another 686 2.5", but this one is a "no dash" Lew Horton that was shipped in '86. Found it at Scheels sans box and tools. Other than the turn line, there're no other signs of use. It does have the "M" stamp, showing it was returned to Smith for the firing pin recall.

My last gun purchase was a CZ 527 (light varmint) .223 and a leupold 3-9AO 22 scope, formerly marketed as a Ultralight. Been using an older version on a 243 for years with total satisfaction. If they will take on a springer air gun, the milder center fires are no problem.

Best,

Jack

Bought this 686-1 last week. It cleaned up too good, had been a truck gun and shot very little. It's at S&W right now because it never was taken in for the recall. Got a set of Altamont silver black boot grips arriving Monday for it.

Been wanting a Benchmade infidel for probably 10 years, but could never justify spending $400 on a knife when I could add a $100 or so and score a nice gun. Got to check one out in person at a LGS, and thought...what the hell I gotta have it.

Before

AFTER

Benchmade!

I now have a Savage 1907 .32 acp on the way

Looks a bit rough, but I'm thinking most of that will clean up nicely.

Already bought a set of replacement grips, which might arrive before the pistol does

I said I would have another one someday and that day finally came. I am working on acquiring the proper grips for it. Is is not a Lew Horton and is currently wearing Ahrends boot grips that I had laying around. This one will not be going anywhere.

My new toy arrived yesterday afternoon. It's a Umarex replica of the Mauser Schnellfeuer, powerred by CO2 and firing BBs down a smooth bore. All metal, probably zinc. It's amazing and more fun that I've ever had from an air pistol. The bolt is drawn back to start firing. It cocks the hammer which falls when you pull the trigger, the bolt and hammer cycle when the shot is fired. The safety functions as does the selector switch on the side. The 'magazine' holds the CO2 cartridge and up to 18 BBs, it will fire all 18 in about half a second when the selector is on 'R'. Being smoothbore it's not very accurate, and a CO2 cartridge only lasts about 50 rounds, but it's amazing fun. Incidently, a box of 40 CO2 cartridges comes with the pistol. A Mauser stock iron is a little large for the groove in the back of the grip; I have an old rusty one, which is going to the gunsmith to be fitted.

Default He made a deal I couldn't refuse ...

Picked up an AR-15 made by Palmetto State Armory. I wasn't looking to buy another AR pattern rifle as I have a Windom Weaponry AR-15, a SIG MCX (in 300BLK) and a Ruger SR762.

I replaced the standard "fat" foregrip with a thinner one for a better feel and just bought a Vortex 3X Prism holo sight to give a little magnification. The SIG and Windom have red dot's for up close and personal shooting. The SR762 has a Leupold VR 4~14 illuminated for longer shots so the 3x magnification handles intermediate ranges,

This is what i was trying to buy, but it and a Kay-bar got thrown in with the AR:

Hmm, let's see- I think I posted that I found a Savage 1907 in .32 ACP at a sweet price, to go along with the similarly sweet-priced CZ-27 I got recently.

I think that I've hit a bit of a plateau with my 9's, and I like to stay ammo-consistent, so I might start going for old .32 acp pistols. They're usually pretty neat little guns.

Most recent addition of any sort- a pair of Uncle Mike's hard rubber grips for my W German Sig P226. They look almost exactly like the stock grips, which do feel nice; but I just like the hard rubber a little more in general (as long as they are discreet, I don't like the Hogue wraparounds).
I love my factory rubber grips on the CZ 75, the Hogue panels on my Beretta 92, and the stock rubber grips on the Star 30MI. This brings the Sig closer in line with them.

I had bought the P210-6 used and without the box. It is a very nice shooter and I unexpectedly found a suede presentation case for it.

These cases were actually made by Bernadelli.

Mothers day coming up. Bought the wife a Sig P238 "Rainbow" Titanium.
She saw one in a gun store in Chico, Ca. two years ago and fell in love. It went "Off Roster" (Calif. thing) two weeks later, so it could only be purchased as a face to face Private Party Transfer (Calif. Thing).
It took me two years to find one within reasonable driving distance (105 miles). I pick it up tomorrow - unfired in the original box. I'm pretty happy because I know my wife of 36 years will be happy.

APA Little ******* GenII

My Rem 700 .308 with a 20in barrel is pretty jumpy. Been kicking around the idea of a brake for a while and finally decided on an APA LB Gen II.

One of the unique things about the LB is the jam nut design. Installs in just a few seconds. Just line up the ports at 3&9 and tighten up the jam nut. Done.

The below is a test of several brakes. Mounted laser on 30 cal rifle and high speed camera measured maximum movement (1in squares at 25yards) from point of aim (red dot). I didn't like the idea of forcing the barrel down below POA after the shot, so I settled on the APA LB which looked like it performed among the best. The chart is no exaggeration. It's like an entirely different rifle. Actually, I think mine performs a bit better than the chart. A pleasure to shoot. Very satisfied.

Default My enthusiasm almost

got the better of me. I'm a born again shooter and have purchased 4 firearms in the past 5 months (2 of them S&W). So regardless of the polarizing nature of pistol caliber carbines I indulged in another lightweight range toy sight unseen. 600 rounds over the last week have been a blast and the initial impression I had, of a nasty firearm whose heritage involved controlling unarmed civilians (com-block), is gone. It is really a fun and almost charming Ceska.
