Friday I bought a Streamlight TLR1-s to stick on my carbine.
3 Fridays ago I snagged a Colt model M 1903/1908 .380. In better than 90% condition. For a bargain. Like $200 below low book.
Me happy.

My VZ24 (Mauser 98 variant) with the .308 barrel.
Ok I finally got it done, checked the headspace yesterday and we are good to go. If the wind dies down we will be sighting it in this evening. At this moment it is wearing a Barska scope (I know hit or miss) but I have two different Bushnell's to put on it if this is a miss, and then we will fill the scope with tannerite and see what happens. One of them is the 3-9x42 Banner that it has been wearing for 5 years. I discovered that 6-24 is such a perfect scope for here and I had bought this but it just wasn't what I wanted on the sport, so I thought I would try it.
Here is the pics of it completed, boresighted and ready to take to the range. It used to be 8x57 but I had a squib round get stuck in the barrel. I was able to locate a .308 Mauser barrel in really nice shape, purchased it and installed it. Previously the receiver had been trued, new spring kit and firing pin, Timney trigger, Bell and Carlson stock, Caldwell Bipod it was a great shooting rifle, I hope it will continue to be so. 003 (1024x768).jpg
Ok back from the range, it is super accurate, but it is chambered for .308, 7.62 is a tiny bit long and makes extraction difficult. but the wind was blowing really hard and it shot super consistent. under an inch at 50 yards, I know thats not much but the wind was really blowing and I mostly was seeing if it would shoot.

I sold off a Glock 19, a Glock 17C, and a Sig P226 after I got my M&PC.
Although, I did pick up a Glock 19 gen3 FDE later.
My latest purchase was a K-22 Combat Masterpiece. (Pre Model 18)

I sold off a Ruger LCP today.
Darn you Smith & Wesson for making the M&P series pistols as if they were made just for me! If or when Illinois ever passes a CCW law, I'll buy a Shield. Until then, its pointless for me to own a pocket pistol.
I spent an hour at the LGS with a wad of cash in hand, and wanted nothing.
I picked up an inexpensive Barska spotting scope.
BARSKA® 20-60X60 Spotting Scope Kit
The night sky is clear and the moon is bright, so I used the spotting scope to moon gaze. It worked quite well.

When you get a chance I would love to know how the scop works at 100 and 200 yards. I have been looking at them for a while

Worked great when I tested it viewing my neighborhood. I checked out three garage sales down the street from the comfort of my balcony.
When looking at the moon, I could see surface details: craters, scars, dark spots. What was really cool was that I could see crater ridges on the visible edges of the moon.
For $50 I spent on sale, I'm not complaining.

a Hornady Cam Lock bullet puller with .308 collet, I may wait till winter to start pulling all these apart. And as soon as I can afford it one of those case trimmers that gauges off of the shoulder so I can reload the brass and have 600 more rounds to shoot.

Tuesday (6/5) I bought a MI 2 Piece Free Float 10" hand guard, DD Low Profile Gas Block, and a Magpul Gen 2 front site. Wednesday morning installed them on my Sport and that afternoon hit the outdoor range to do some 100yd shooting.

Oh definetely not. I loved my Super Sport and I like you guys here. I just wanted a Colt, being as it's the closest thing to the real thing. In fact after the election frenzy dies down I'll probably try to pick up another stock sport and just leave it that way. Believe it or not they've been showing up around here sub $500used............

It's not a gun...
A Trek 7100. It is amazing the difference between a quality bicycle assembled by a professional and some bicycle put together by some schmo at a big-box retailer.

Went to my LGS to pick up a 40Shield I've been waiting on. I've had the hankering for a revolver bigger than my 357.....I couldn't pass up this Model 629 Classic Super Port.

Ok I broke down and bought 3 PMags....I have quite a few "new" style Military Mags some still in the package but I like the one I have that came with my Sport so 3 more is no problem.
Also today I ordered a New Frontier Lower for my rifle build. All I lack is a Buttstock with Buffer and Spring ( I will get one off of eBay) and a BCG and she is ready to go. Cant wait....will have my Iron Sights....No plastic sights all metal, for under 100 yards and larger targets... I might even put a carrying handle on it. with a fixed removable front sight. I have the parts.

The Sig Sauer 22 (on bottom) is just something
I thought I had to have for the range...we'll see.
The Glock and LC9 are just about broken-in.

Taurus M66B6, 6", Blued, 7 chamber cylinder.
After selling off a LCR .357, it felt decidedly un-American not having a revolver. Also, I have an ammo can of .38 Special & .357 Magnum.
I know that since this is a S&W forum, it's semi-sacrilegious to post a Taurus. My purpose of use for the revolver is range use only. I looked at a comparable S&W 686. Loved it, but couldn't stomach the buy-in price. I checked out a Ruger GP100. Good revolver, just didn't speak to me.
My LGS is clearing out some Taurus firearms. This one was marked $399. The LGS was competitive with online dealers. Trigger pull is good. Everything checked out mechanically.
Low price, 7-shot, Unlimited Lifetime Warranty = Might as well give it a go.

Little CP economy multi colored multi-tac thingamajig
and, riser beneath to co-witness via front iron.
Got a few comfort items on the way i.e. cheek and butt stock pad.
And, a fore-stock quad rail that I am second guessing now
that I've grown to like the OEM fore-stock's feel, and ease of mobility.
We shall see.

YUP! I got back from the range. The M66 is one of the most fun firearms to shoot. .357 Mag is stout, but not punishing like out of a snubbie.
.357 158 gr. JHP @ 25ft. Target = 2" diameter dot sticker.
Double Action. I had one flyer.
Single Action.
.38 Special out of the M66 feels like a kitten is playfully pawing at my hand.

Can't beat them for the price. I'm glad it worked out for you. I know I love using mine.
