Default Model 15-3 4"

On the 31st of August, I found another Model 15-3, Blue, with 4" Barrel. This one doesn't have a box, but is in very high overall condition; I would place it at 98% plus.

Model 15-3 4" Shipped 1974-75.

[IMG][/IMG]

I'm beginning to amass a quantity of Model 15's. But they are one of the best of the short barrel .38 Special K Frames in my opinion.

Default M&P 22 Compact

On the same day that I purchased the Model 15-3, posted above, I also purchased this M&P 22 Compact. I had posted this in the M&P forum earlier, so forgive me for the redundancy.

This gun is a tremendous value for the money, and I highly recommend it to anyone considering a .22 plinker!

We've all heard the saying - "Don't go grocery shopping when you're hungry"? I think we should add - "don't go to a gun show when you need nothing but feel the "need" to need something".

I picked up this today...because the price was right.

A set of Altamont “Altai” stocks for my 640. Kind of converts round butt to square butt. Definitely comfortable, definitely keepers. Made of “Super Walnut” (dymondwood)

An old Luger refinished in nickel, because I've wanted a Luger for as long as I can remember, and the price was excellent for a shooter.

Tested out my Arsenal AK + 60rnd quad mag today. Mixed results. While a neat range toy, I don't think these mags are quite ready for prime time.

A baffle for my RCBS Uniflow powder measure. The most exciting 8 dollars I've spent in a while....
Oh...and also...a new Beretta 85FS in a nickel plated finish. OMG! What a gorgeous little nugget that thing is!

A BK grip adapter for my Charter Arms Bulldog. They don’t make one specifically for the Bulldog but the J frame fits well enough. Nice product. Fast service. I had it in 3 days. I am pleased.

I finally have The Holy Grail in my hands. I was afraid if I talked about it, I would jinx the sale, but now I have it. I won't go into a lot of detail right now. It is a Springfield Model 1873 Cavalry Carbine from The Little Big Horn. A few numbers off from a known 7th Cavalry Carbine. Captured by the 2nd Cavalry from Lame Deer's camp in May 7, 1877. I will be test-firing the carbine and sending the test-fired cartridge cases back to the Nebraska State Crime Lab for a forensic comparison to fired cartridge cases recovered from the Little Big Horn battlefield.

XS Sights & Rail to put on my 1894 'JM' Marlin (20" barrel, .44 Magnum).

This is the first rifle I ever bought (in the mid-90s) and it's going to get some 'love'!

C-More for my Tactical Solution's barrel. I just got the barrel back after they helicoiled the holes for the scope mount. I stripped them and had to have them recut for the 6-40 screws. Now my mount doesn't come loose after every 300 rounds.

Fell for a pretty little face with a smooth trigger at a LGS today. Came home with a new 642 PC.

My friends joke that I have enough Cavalry Carbines to form my own cavalry company. X Company?

I have two other 7th Cavalry carbines; one from Wounded Knee and The Bloody Pocket at Drexel Mission, and another from Private Charles Anderson, 7th Cavalry, C Company under Tom Custer.

Then I have a fake Cavalry Carbine. I'll bet it would fool most collectors. Why did I buy it? The antique firearms in my collection are artifacts of history. I can hold my latest carbine in my hands and feel that it was once held by some young trooper, scared, and fighting for his life. I can hold a Colt revolver that was carried by a Union Army officer from Illinois at the siege of Atlanta. I'm afraid to shoot them and others in my collection in case something happens to them. The fake carbine is not an artifact of history and has limited value, neither historic nor monetary. I can shoot the fake and not worry about it.

I also have a stone club that was gifted to my family from a family friend, Jake Herman, from Pine Ridge. It is Oglala Lakota, mid-1870s, and it was in a family for generations and reportedly used to crush the skulls of the dead 7th Cavalry troopers after the battle.

I went to the LGS today with the intention of buying and having them install Trijicon Night Sights on my Shield 9mm. Ended up walking out with TRU GLO TFO sights instead. The armorer let me see both sets, side by side in a totally dark room. Case closed.

I got to put some rounds through the .45acp carbine I bought last week. It was very accurate and functioned without failure.
Amazingly...the recoil if almost nonexistent.

I plan to replace the ghost ring sights with a red dot and add a spare magazine holder.

I think I'm going to have a lot of fun at the range with this gun!

Nice groups! At what distance were they shot and was it from the bench or off-hand?

I traded straight across a 3rd Gen G19 (6 mags) & Sigarms Trailside 6" target model (3 mags) for a 95% 1975 3rd Gen Colt Detective Special in 38 Special. I'd say no more than 100rds thru the Colt. It came with the original box and paperwork sans instruction booklet!

Default Had to have it- New Glock 45

Was in my LGS and my buddy, the owner said he had something to show me. Knowing that next to S&W revolvers, Glocks are my secondary firearms passion, he pulled out this new Glock 45, strangely enough in 9mm. It is sort of a Glock 19/17 meld.

I really like the changes Glock made to this model. Thing I may try some concealed carry with this one. I am already used to the Glock controls and have holsters to fit. Now I just need to shoot it.

I guess the latest is this USFA 38-40 unfired with factory nickel. It is now at Alan Harton's getting a bisley spurred hammer fit to it.

Default Marvel Precision Unit 1 .22 Conversion Unit

This was a much anticipated purchase and to say I'm happy would be an extreme understatement. This .22 Conversion Unit is an absolute tack driver. I opted for Marvel's steel slide lock-back, but they offer several variations with iron sights or a weaver rail (or both) and non lock-back versions. The included test target button shows the barrel shot a 5 shot 50 yard group of .567". I've tried the Marvel unit on several 1911 frames that I own and it works flawlessly on all. It's currently mounted on a Norinco M1911-A1 frame and I've added a Vortex Venom reflex red dot to the weaver rail. I've owned it for just over 2 months and have put about 1K rounds through it and it's a pleasure to use and extremely accurate.

It's actually the cheapest low end Epiphone SG I found at the flea market for $20. It's a good starting point and with some upgrades can be a fine guitar. I'm going with a full S&W motif makeover, new colors and quality electronics.
